Why would they? The B58 is considered by many as the best engine BMW has ever made. I’m not talking about power, I’m talking about overall. It’s stout, reliable, makes good power, modern, smooth, and has potential to be tuned to 1000hp on factory long-block parts.

So in reality, an S58 would technically be a downgrade.

B58 in a MkIV, the superior Supra.

Also, I don't think there is any necessity whatsoever in having the S58 installed. A properly fettled B58 will do absolutely everything that would be needed, and while I don't mind being proven wrong, I doubt BMW would let an S58 into anything but an M car.
Except BMW has already let Range Rover put a proper M engine in their SUV
The S68 to be exact

Confirmed by some rando on youtube?

Just being fair, he used to work for Lexus for a long time before he started his social media thing. Do I think Toyota will release a GRMN with the S58? I do, but it will be limited supply and the price will easily be $85k+ and maybe 300-500 made. The markups will be insane so I will likely stay away. But if we want to look at it from the other side: why would BMW give Toyota the S58 for the Supra when it's a lighter car than the M2 and would likely steal sales away from the G87 M2? Food for thought.

On a short track the Supra is already faster than the G87 M2 when they are running on the same compound tyres.

People buying the M2 are not primarily because of the performance It is a combination of practicality plus performance. Practicality is where the M2 wins against the Supra regardless of the S58 or not.

The Supra wins in its agility and cornering speed regardless of whether it has an S58 or not. Having an S58 is just icing on the cake for it to take on pure sports car at a higher rung like the GT4 or GT3 without any modifications as we all know the Supra can take on a GT4 or GT3 on the track once modded.

With the amount of collaboration going on between Toyota and BMW (ICE Hydrogen, Fuel Cell Hydrogen, may be even efuel ICE...etc), the amount at stake is humongous. its easy-peasy for Toyota to gain their hands on an S58 for the GRMN Supra.

I get tricked every time someone bumps this thread and I see the title. ?

What if they just add some boltons, tune, and call it a day? I wouldn't be surprised considering they added stickers and a baby wing for the 45th and that's 7k over the premium.

To really distinguish the two variants of the current chassis, Toyota should bring in Yamaha to provide engineering on MKV specific cylinder head and accoustics. Nothing wrong with the current 6 port head, but it could use some better tuning and redesign of the direct port injection, aesthetics, and a bit better engine response. Imagine a MKV that sounds and revs like an LFA and cylinder head that looks like a jewel under the bonnet.

This would be impressive but in all reality will never happen. We are all hoping and dreaming for some last extravagence for the A90 that realistically won't happen. Many final editions go out like blowing a candle and that's it. Only the most hardcore enthusiast will appreciate the difference in some final editions.
I personally know this trying to find Spirit R stuff for the RX7 but other people who look at the RX7 wont bat an eye for the things that were added.
