Oh my god. I can't believe they thought that would work haha.
Sadly, this type of shit does work. Half my job is educating my company on these types of scams, social engineering, phishing etc... We even have a system in place to test our users, the failur stats would amaze you.

While it's probably harder to get away with these scams on a dedicated forum, social media is downright the wild west. It's so bad, I just figure everything posted is a scam and don't touch it.

More and more scammers are surfacing on Instagram and Facebook pretending to sell parts, with stolen photos.

PLEASE REPORT!

If you come across any more, please post them to this thread.

I got a message like this when I commented on someone's post for tires. A random dude messaged me saying "He takes long to respond, but you can message him on (some sham email)" (-_-)

I wonder if other forums are able to sniff these fuckers out as quickly as we can.

I would kinda doubt it, simply due to the main demographics of MKV buyers. Being an average age of 35, and career fields of IT and engineering being quite overrepresented, puts us smack dab near the top of people least likely to fall for internet scams in my opinion. Simply being above average intelligence, and in the age bracket that grew up with the birth of the internet, I'd think we're suspicious of damn near everything. Nigerian Princes anyone? Gift cards? Free iPods?! We're the OGs of all of that.
