Lets see those 18" wheel setups!

Looking for advice on fitment and clearance.

I ordered a set of 18X10 +36 for a square setup.

I'm either planning on running 275/40R18 or 265/40R18, this is on stock suspension and stock height.

The manufacturer says I need to run a 5mm spacer up front in order for the spoke to clear the brake caliper. My concern is if I decide to run 275/40R18 square, will the 5mm spacer be enough, or do I need to get a 10mm spacer instead to clear the suspension components? Also, has anyone run 265/40R18 square on the track? Just want to know if there's any difference between running 265/40R18 and 275/40R18 on the track.

Any down side to running 10mm spacers other than looks? That’s what I bought for my 275/35-18 tires and it did the trick for me.

Also, big mistake on my part running with sport lowering springs not meant for track. I chewed up a nice new set of tires . I’m sure not many people would make that mistake but thought it’s worth sharing, so no one else even considers it, lol.

I now have coilovers with stiffer springs. So just food for thought. Glad to hear you’re going to track her and get the most out of this incredible car!

There are definitely more tire choices that I prefer in 275/35R18 and 265/40R18 compared to 275/40R18. I know I can definitely clear the front with a 5mm or 10mm spacer if I end up getting continental extreme contact sport or Michelin PS4S in 265/40R18 since I read up on the apex 18X10 ET30 technical notes and tire fitment thread.

I'm not a big fan of lowering the car since I will be putting suspension and aero parts down the line once I figure out my goals for the car. I'm satisfied with the stock suspension and stock height for now.

Doh. Yeah, articulating suspension pieces to ensure no rubbing is a PITA but critical. It also seems these cars don't like to be lowered unless using suspension components to correct geometry.
That makes me happy because it's less parts to buy right now

I know this was said elsewhere but will repeat. Local Supra track rat in our neck of the woods is all stock except consumables. And is the fastest Supra around our track

Coulda, shoulda, woulda saved me a ton of money looking back. This car is very capable with better rubber and pads, indeed! Knowing that would have given me extra money to try the holy grail $1000 CSG pads JK - I still wouldn’t pay that much for pads…

Edit: I will say I do really really like the SPL parts. Giving the car a more direct telepathic feel and the ability to change my camber (w/out plates up front).

I have Nakangs, $400 pads, and fluid. I did just buy camber plates for obvious reasons. I expect the car to be very fast. I'll know next week!

Installed Apex SM10 18x10 ET30 front and 18x11 ET40 rears with Conti EC sport 2 F 265/40 and R 295/35's. Definitely more grip than the stock Michelin PSS. HKS springs, MAPerformance DP, and HKS super turbo exhaust to be installed next week.

That is my favorite out of all their wheels. I had the same wheel and color on one of my old cars. Looked perfect.

Minimum is 15mm front and 12mm rear to clear the stock suspension for that setup. Anything larger is preference. I ran that setup for about a year before getting coilovers.

275/35/18 is also the largest you can run square on stock suspension without rubbing ON TRACK. On street you can play with a bit larger but clearance is situational.

275/40r18 CR-S is fine on 18x10.5 et34 wheels with 5mm spacers

that would be the equivalent of the same tire and a 12mm spacer on the Titan7 18x10.7 fitment

Personally, I'd choose a wheel that doesn't need such a large spacer. I don't like mexi-poke.

It's not the wheel it's the clearance of the factory suspension. A more narrow wheel would just mean a smaller tire which probably wouldn't be ideal (if a spec even exists)

Gotcha. I run a 275-40 tire but don't need that large of a spacer. Fits nicely.

Spacer size depends on offset/width/tire size for clearance to the spring perch/damper.

True, but the conversation above a specific towards a 275 tire and how much of a spacer you may want to run to make it fit. All I said was that I'd run the smallest spacer possible.
I'd run no spacer, but that offset wouldn't be happy in the back.
If they want to run 275 square, be able to rotate the wheels, clear brakes, and not have weird fitment issues then there is mostly one way to skin the cat.
