tbc am not commenting on your setup, just providing supporting evidence on my note for why there is/isn't additional front stiffness on the initial launch/gt4.

you're probably right, i don't know much about motorsports honestly, just read a bunch:
from popular mechanics:

it's one of the few areas i politely disagree with Mario on:
https://occamsracers.com/2023/07/14/understeer-is-faster-than-oversteer/

note the gt4’s front bar setting
IMG_1777.webp
A factory race car and a designed street car are dramatically different

I have driven a m2csr AND a m4 gt4 on track. They drive and handle PERFECT. The adjustments are to suit conditions or a specific track. The settingget changed all the time

my street Supra is on max stiff to try and catch up to them a bit

I concede I am not arguing with you -same team- feeling here. I don’t buy they added braces to satisfy car reviewers

If you just added front braces on ā€˜20 model Supra, it wouldn’t work as it should. When a driver would turn-in, it would understeer. During the exit, it would oversteer. You can’t just stiffen up the chassis. We needed to think of both front and rear balance. With this update, we readjusted all those things.
- tada probably

When you state "Max stiff" what do you technically mean by that?
stiffer springs than people suggest and front and sway sways both on max
I slide through some corners when doing a time trial or hot lap and have to counter steer power on.

Sitting on a beach. Will look at my notes.
Usually- but not always :). Lots of styles, lots of set ups. My lap times speak for them selves and only running at 440 hp

Concede there is always someone faster and always a better way. Works for me so far. Within a.5 sec to max2 track records on the 4 tracks I do scca tt. Everyone says real coil overs drop time- I am excited to do that next.

OH, sorry if I came off as critical. Not my intent at all. Was just making a broad statement.

I thought you where on stock struts still. Can't be that stiff then?

So, lowering springs and sway bars? Or does someone make a standard spring for OEM struts that is more stiff?

What do you all use to air up at the track?

I’m considering buying a compressor but don’t want one that sucks.

Also, any suggestions for starting tire pressure for PS4S on track?

Relevant video with respect to set up and oversteer/understeer being down to driver preference:

It's true even at the highest levels of motorsport. Both can be fast.

My limited understanding is that if the car is oversteering, increasing front axle roll stiffness should increase overall grip and responsiveness up to a point, but it also means the outside tire on the front axle is doing more of the work and will be overloaded sooner.

I think the issue a lot of people run into is that the aftermarket front sway bars are very stiff compared to stock and designed to be run with an equally stiff aftermarket rear sway bar. So if you just do the front, you could still in theory be quicker, but if you don't adjust your driving style to account for what may now be an understeer bias, you are just going to overheat your front tires, which will of course make you slower. If I were only going to do the front, I would look for the softest sway bar on the softest setting (which would still probably be noticeably stiffer than stock).

most track has compressors available for everyone to use. would be much faster than portable compressor. otherwise, you could use one came with the car. I usually start high pressure and go lower depends on condition and leave it all weekend long until I come back home. - so would have less things to think about.

Both Dewalt and Ryobi make great small compressors that are set and forget. Meaning you set a pressure and it auto shuts off when it reaches it. Recommend either. Depends on what ecosystem you have already invested in, if at all.
