Back before PPF was common, I had the front of my car PPF'd for about $750 and I honestly think both the film and install were much better back then.

Not only that but the PPF I got back then was the much thicker 3M Venture Tape. I believe this was primarily used to protect helicopter rotor blades! Today's car specific stuff just seems to be a cheap and (much easier to install) marketing gimmick by comparison.. at a much higher cost, of course!

And just as an aside, Venture Tape has lasted fifteen years on my daily without lifting or bubbling, etc.

You won't in a year or two. Tan doesn't age well.

It ages fine if you take care of it. Automakers have only been using tan leather for 50+ years now, and if it's of good quality, and not trashed by the owner, it'll look good pretty much forever.

Light disappeared after a few days and stayed away. Honda wanted to charge me some ridiculous amount to diagnose it but she's been back to reliable af so yes, good as gold.

We had white seats in our tesla. They -never- got stained or worn. I was absolutely amazed by them.

Dogs, kids, spilled shit. Constant dark-jean-usage. Never looked any less white than the day it came home from the dealership.

I wondered if they have some kind of coating or advanced material that is supposed to resist soiling.

That being said, two friends of mine are Telsa Master Techs, and I've seen lots of stained-ass seats, so I don't know what people are doing to them then...

I saw one of these recently while out and about. I wasn't stunned that Tesla would make it more that someone would buy it.
Whenever I see something like this that seems impractical, unsuitable or otherwise unique I always consider the "it's different attraction" People will chose the most stupid, impractical, long term dumb choice things on the basis it's "different". They don't even realise that's the basis of their decision making in most cases. The Supra tan leather isn't quite in this category and I personally think it looks really good on delivery BUT Like a Tattoo that looks awesome when it's freshly done my mind always jumps to the future and it's a "yea, nah" when It comes to the option decision. Black doesn't Pop like the Tan when it's new but it won't look old in 3 or 4 years either.

Kudos to giving the public what they want. I wouldn’t want white. But damn I sure see a lot of em! I like tan interiors ever since I saw my 1st Ferrari. If you didn’t drive your car much, no kids, no pets, it sure looks nice ? imo

I did need it done prior to PPF, but even if I didn't it was going on Hehe.

It's GTS + Alcantara in auto.

I kind of regret not getting the tan interior. Haven't decided if I'm happy I didn't go manual yet, because this auto feels epic.
