I hit PB’s? In all seriousness, these have seen 40 track days and like six alignments. That said, I am most likely moving to another brand over the winter.
?

Sounds like classic fatigue failure. I was a little concerned with how SPL does the split-tabs and a tension ring to "lock" the threads...looks like my engineering intuition was on-point.

Man I need a lift in my garage. Jacking up the car 4 corners pre/post every track day is a chore...It would have been fine with 3 track days a year but every other weekend...
Quickjacks are literally the best car-related purchase I have ever made.

A reminder to always inspect your whole car after/before your next event. Found this issue today. Rear toe arm is broken. There is an inner piece here that the collar clamps onto to prevent the arm from being loose. This is obviously broken as the collar is cranked down and the arm is still able to move. This will eventually break the arm itself and be not good. I would not have caught this if I didn't have a habit of grabbing everything and twisting/pushing/pulling as I inspect the car.

Now to call in the morning and get a replacement asap as I have an event this coming weekend.

SPL, yes? So another vote for Verkline?

Man, it's a real shame you're nowhere near Lime Rock. They have an infield AutoX course with banking and curbs like a big track and wet skid pad. Sports Car Drivers Association (SCDA) does car control clinics there all 4-seasons. I did my first in snow/sleet/ice. ?

They want you to lose control of your car because there's essentially zero consequences. There's no fences or walls nearby, just grass. Learning how the car works with all of the nannies off trying to force the car to under/oversteer has been absolutely invaluable. Learning how to initiate - pause - recover when you're past the limit will make you a better driver, period.
Yeah, I'd do that in a heartbeat if I was still on the east coast.

We have a lot of great run off spots at Sebring and Homestead. Plenty of places to practice. Why people do the same (push, throttle & brake) near a turn/corner with a wall nearby in the wet/rain, knowing we all have trouble (even in the dry), is beyond me…

Thanks for sharing. Once you get this out can you show pics of how the bolt / arm failed. Also would be interested in spl response as they may need to change the design like they did for front lower control arms. I have had mine in service for 80 track days and no problems on these arms with many alignment adjustments. So far they have held up well . I second your input on checking. Every time I change/swap tires which is at least at the end of a track day i do the same by moving all the bars and inspecting bolts to make sure nothing has come loose before the wheel goes back on. So very good advice.

Thanks. So bolt broke. I will send spl a message as well as I have been talking to them for some time about the front bolts as I think I was one of the first people to actually break the front bolts. Which they now have upgraded. So they need to know this as I think the bolt grade/ quality may be an issue

Here is what the front bolt break looked like. Also it was hard to tell but the arm also broke off as well? Or just bolt inside end of arm/threads Thanks.

Bolt didn't break. The bit on the arm that cinches down with the collar broke that I circled in the diagram.

All the clamping “tabs” all broke off the arm.

Seen this happen before, can’t beat the tried and true jam nut style locking.
