Thanks defiantly would be interested in the adapter. I have already be looking at locations. Just not sure what they do with the water side just connect it so it will circulate and then two outlets for oil cooler. I found this but not sure if will fit and how it would

be connected up. They have not responded to Emails

GT4 does have much larger side ducts for the auxiliary radiators, but this one is the center duct. Allows more airflow to the heat exchanger and main radiator.

If you have oil cooling issues, give me some time... I’m waiting on drawings of the GT4 oil cooler adapter. However you would need to come up with the oil cooler location/mounting yourself since the GT4 mounts the coolers in the rear of the car, above the under panels where the factory gas tank sits on a road car.

To all that is wondering how was I able to order GT4 replacement parts… Iā€˜ve been in the motorsport industry for quite sometime, I was able to get a source through one of my contacts in the industry.
From the photos I have, the rear cooler is for the rear diff. Did they update? Seems like a long ways for an engine cooler placement.

The unit you posted gets rid of the factory cooler, and has no thermostat in place. Not the best option for all weather operation.

GT4 unit retains the factory water cooler unit, helps maintain temps if it’s too cold out.

Coolers been updated on the Evo, differential on right side, engine on the left.

Also in your photo, looks to be an older spec diff cooler mounting location(behind the rear axle). New mounting is in front of the rear axle.

Here is a pic showing the vent to the oil cooler (left side, notice stainless lines running back along side) and the differential cooler mounted behind the axle (as per your photo). Evo has moved the differential cooler to mirror the engine cooling location.

I actually just saw something I hadn't noticed before in the underside image I have of the normal GT4. I always thought these braided lines where for fuel but now I see this mesh towards the rear as well. So perhaps the normal GT4 also indeed has the oil cooler in the rear as well?

LOL, just updated my post.

Correct. Evo has the diff cooler moved to center of the car as well.

Cool. Yea that is actually a pretty straight shot for routing the lines from the engine where the filter block is. Probably about the same distance as mounting the cooler in the front of the car, with less complex routing.

Yea, also doesn’t stack more up front and keeps the fresh air for heat exchanger/main radiator as the priority.

However for road cars we don’t have that option due to the gas tank. For a road car oil cooler mounting will be similar to F/G series M cars. Extracting hot air to the underside isn’t ideal.. but options are limited.

I looked into the G series M external oil cooler setup but was bummed to see the S58 oil filter / cooler setup to the block has completely different ports. I was hoping it was going to be a lego piece. The actual cooler itself could work.

HOWEVER. One thing I found is that the G series M340i with the same B58 has an optional external oil cooler option just like the full fat M cars if you get the M-Sport package *and* a different oil filter housing cover plate (#5 in the oil filter housing diagram below) to use with it!

I believe this could be a nice retrofit on the supra if the cooler routing works!

good work guys. I know my diff needs cooling- been looking. My bmw race team friends add fan air blowers to their diffs almost as soon as they buy them. Prob one of my winter mods at their shop.

I’m aware of this setup, I thought of going this route and instead of using the factory lines you can get the conversion fittings that convert the factory fitting to a -AN fitting.

There is a more beefy and cost friendly oem cooler nearly 1/3 of the price ($140 from FCP) that is an option, comes off the F series M5/6.

Only problem is from my experience the factory BMW thermostat opens too late for track use even with larger coolers temps climb. That’s what lead me to look into the gt4 cooling design, it utilizes the factory water cooler unit along with the additional cooler.

The radiators (high-temp) is what will help oil temps. If you look at logs, oil and coolant temp plots follow each other.

So the main radiator yes? Would combining heat exchanger + radiator upgrade + vented hood help with oil/water temps? I have an option to get CSF HX + PWR rad on a good price.

Do you have a link to the conversion fittings?

As far as oil t-stat, I believe that is controlled by the ECU and you can tweak the tables.
