Stock practice for us when doing dB measurements is about 8-12" away from the exhaust (equipment is basically positioned like a GoPro would be). Depending on if we are chasing a bad drone or something we sometimes do interior measurements as well but that is far less common.Do you actually know how they measure at LRP? How it's weighted and where it's measured from?
It just blows my mind how loud some cars are there and no one gets black flagged despite the warnings like everywhere. ?
The stock bangs and burbles on a bone stock 2020 are very likely over 100 dBA when measured from 2 meters away from the exhaust at 45°.
@Dinan_Engineering can you give some details on the testing method you used for the M2?
Just as an example the below chart is what the G87 M2 measured out with between stock and just the Dinan axle-back. Helpful tip for reading -- generally a 10dB difference is considered twice as loud for the human ear (logarithmic scale).
