scs delta gdi 6 ecu w/cantcu with Aim display in dash - factory harness gets replaced none of the OEM electronics will work and will be removed including the electric power steering getting replaced with hydraulic rack
Very interesting choice. I am not sure that I would go that route. But let me know how everything turns out. You doing a post build on this?

I'm genuinely curious when I ask this... why?

At a very high level I just want some knobs and switches to select a map, adjust or turn off traction/abs on track and have a cool racecar dash.

Also way over the whole locked ecu where I still do not get everything I need and costs a small fortune to enter

You know we have a full AIM PDM with display specifically for the MK5 with full integration for a race car setup? Not yet published. PM me if you want some more details. I will be following your thread. Cheers

JB4 you can select a map and turn it off and on. It’s cool @D_A_S is on here and has track applications. I couldn’t imagine our cars being even faster & just as dependable w/ power increase on track! They are insanely fast now.

I already own a Garmin Catalyst and a JB4. I want to get a seat someday w/out dash malfunctions, if possible. Glad y’all are out there racing, testing & on here! Great website. Tons of options for sure.

Is a custom map on a jb4 doable for track? Reading through this thread seems jb4 is a no go, but didn’t see if anyone did a custom map. I’m just an autocrosser that wants to transition to time trials.
You can I did it for a season running race gas all year with a map targeting around 520WHP with a daw turbo, only problem I had was the oem speed limiter starts activating around 155 and limits you to 163

So with a proper map on JB4 that works with mods can be usable on track???

Huh? That’s possible today. I have no dash lights and neither does anyone else with race seats that coded things out correctly.
I need to buy it from someone who can do the ? you can do - You’re lucky you live up North. You’d probably already have a restraining order in place against me. I’d be at your house 24/7 trying copy all your upgrades to my car ?

I’m almost positive Jesse can do it. It’s just the multiple logs/pulls you’d have to send and under what conditions to replicate? I don’t want to hit limp mode on track and drive back in w/ fist in the air. Last time I did it, in limp mode, she didn’t want to go over 55 mph and was sluggish as hell. I was running in a red group. You get a good idea how fast everyone is running when you’re a sitting duck like that. Outright dangerous.

Great question since we’re not at a drag strip (safe) environment. I’d need to find a remote place to try to do some pulls & send to @Jesse DaBears - when we warm up again back to our normal schweaty FL ? status

That‘s amazing/fantastic ? Who did it for you? Did you have to replicate the track environment logs? Or did you do pulls in a safer place -like street?

I’m stock turbo, 93 octane with a catless downpipe, intake & exhaust (for sound they say). Nothing major. Hence I’m getting way too excited over this topic ?

I did JB4 for a while (2021) before ecutek. dp and a splash of E. Burger looked at my logs and recommended map4

You are going into limp?
jb4 can read codes- just dont turn car off. next time in limp just pull in, put in park, leave running, and get jb4 to read codes.

That’s cool Bob! JB4 did store the codes for me. I’ve tried map4 and I get the same results on track. I know it’s heat related because I was able to stay in map4 for a while in Homestead once when I was freezing my balls off. She finally limped out in the afternoon as it warmed up. I did get my PB however while playing around with it, hahaha…. We rarely have the weather we’re having now ?. So once we get back up to normal (FL) running temps, I’ll definitely have to do some pulls again and send it ?

Interesting.... What unit are you going with? I am guessing people are already trying to sell others on Motec? It is currently being developed in Australia and will take some time. The problem is the Flexray in the car. All aftermarket ECUs except the factory BOSCH motorsport stuff cannot compute fast enough for this Flexray. We have been working with people in the industry to create a Receiver and transmitter. You are talking about a long way off. Unless you are rewiring the entire car for Standalone and not caring about the factory electronics?

I am at the point mentally where I would be happy to rip all the nannies out and do a stand alone.... Not sure it would make me any faster and $$

I so hear ya man! The stock kids are doing just fine. It’s amazing right! I might be opening that wormhole even wider ?

Still there ? Hopefully picking her up tomorrow… this will be the last time I have to go in for anything other than consumables ?

I am laughing WITH you.... but: "last time i have to go in" on a track car is.... wishful thinking :)

Does anyone have any strong opinions between ECF and V730s? I'll be running (275/35/18) on some Apex 18x10s.

Kinda leaning ECFs but they cost about 50% more. Do they last 50% longer?

I drive up to 300 miles to the track and run 20-30min sessions. So bonus to ECF for road manners and the occasional wet day.

But, I hear the V730s grip much better and still last a pretty long time. But, they can be kinda sketch in the wet? Ive only got experience with RE71RS and PS4s in the wet currently.
