Which tire lasts longer for tracking/street? RE71RS or A052? Might have to daily either one of these tires for a bit so wondering which would be better longevity-wise. I know CRS are better than both of these long-term but that is not an option right now since I have 19s and sizes in 19s are limited. I do about 6 track days a year.
probably give the a052 a slight edge but I’d try to find another tire to daily…

Unless it never rains or gets below 50 where you are you really don’t want to daily those They need to operate at a certain temp to work as designed and stop and go traffic ain’t it. You are just going to go thru tires and $ faster. Oh and ps. Leave traction control on for us

Had my worst drive home ever on my Victras last track day. Had to slow down quite a bit on the back roads from Sebring to Ft. Myers. Luckily no highway driving. It was a monsoon all the way. Otherwise, I don’t mind driving it (slowly) in town. I wouldn’t do it if it was a daily driver for sure.

Thinking trailer in my future? Yeah probably ? ugggggghhhhhh…..

6 months out of the year I slap back on the OEM shoes for in town short errands. Hoping to burn that original rubber off eventually

rig the supra up with a tow hitch and a mini trailer to haul your track stuff ?

Good point. We should do that to the VW. But I was kinda referring to hydroplaning during the rare all day Noah’s Ark events. Rain is usually heavy and sporadic down here. Short burst and it’s over. Not this last time.

Hi, I am new to tracking/time trials with my car and have enjoyed it. I am looking to add some more power as I did already upgrade tires, brake pads, brake fluid. I am looking to tune my car. I have a stock 2020 Supra and am going to bench-unlock it. I was wondering which one between MHD (possibly using the OTS stage 1 tune) or Ecutek (custom) tune would be better for my car and keeping the reliability aspect to it. I only have access to 91 pump gas. I am not looking to be the fastest Supra out there, just wanting 30-40 more whp. I also know using the MHD OTS tunes would be the cheaper/easier way to go compared to Ecutek. Thank you!
Have you maxed out what your car can do on stock power? I don’t know if you’re new to tracking or new to time trials, but this car is plenty in stock for a normal track junkie. But if you’re past that stage, then get an ecutek custom tune with a bench unlock. Zach from CSG does good tunes for track

Here is my PB from Club MotorSports

Beautiful tracks! ? A buddy is throwing his car on the train to get to some of those northern hills. Both of you guys are flying through the hairpins. Feels like I‘m throwing the car around. Can’t wait to overlay the data from my last track days and check it out. Those tracks look so nice and smooth ? ?

Question for Catalyst peeps: do you have to do the overlay on the unit or is there a faster method? Thx

Catalyst does it for you. The files are two big for direct DL to site so you need a YouTube acct and just add the link.

Daily get Advan AD09

if setting lap time with stock suspension get RE71RS as the A052 rolls too much on stock camber, requiring more steering angle to make a turn

if setting laptime with coilovers + camber kit the A052 has an edge because it is lighter

It’s funny because the guy who does my suspension asked if I’m done playing with tires & he will set it for the Maxxis. I honestly thought it wasn’t that big of a deal, lol.

Separate issue or thoughts (everyone):

Haha :D
Well direzza is said to be 2nd only to cup2r as far as semislicks go... dunno about new trofeo rs but time will tell. Next upgr around here over dunlop are full slicks.

I wanna do monoballs + solid subframe mount on mine 1day.

For now trying to figure how to do tunnels for verus standard splitter...
