You need to buy a ODB to Bluetooth/Wireless dongle for the ODB port (a compatible one, usually if it works with Bimmercode it will work with xHP,) (sorry this is wrong, you will need to make sure you get a correct adapter). Then you gotta pay for the tune/maps through the xHP app on your phone (something like around $450) and gives you access to a few TCU maps... And the ability to do various custom things like custom shiftpoints, etc. I am hearing it's largely unnecessary to get a xHP tune until you've probably gone down the fully built transmission route which is at least 10,000 dollars minimum. I could be wrong though, but I find the stock shifting perfectly adequate, fast, and clunky already.. but I bought my Supra slightly used and I believe it's previous owner had bolt ons/tunes so who knows, maybe I have xHP already installed lol but I have no wayof knowing.

Been running mine with XHP Stage 3 tune for a year and love. Gives you a lot of options from adjusting shift points all the way to circuit mode. Several other great features also.

Just flashed stage 3 and it made a huge difference. If your ecu is tuned then xhp is a requirement. Otherwise it jerks under heavy acceleration and it doesn’t feel good. It might even make you break loose if you have traction control off.

Be careful of using the stage 3 flash for the transmission. xHP does not recommend using it often unless your transmission is built already. It will wear out the transmission prematurely due to the excessive line pressure used to hold all of the torque. I use stage 2 and have had great results and no slipping of the transmission. Holds all the torque just fine.

I heard of people on stage 3 all the time but I will try stage 2 and report back

stage 3 doesn't bump line pressure. That is a separate setting.
From what I have read stage 3 will reduce the life of the transmission. I guess I need to research more on what exactly is worn more. Thanks for the correction about the line pressure.

There is absolutely no proof of what you are claiming, @3literV8Eater.

Stage 3 simply trades away more comfort for transmission performance. Faster shift times. Higher revving. Longer gear holds. More "punch" in the shifts. These are things the transmission can already do, but does not do, for your comfort.

All the wear and tear features (e.g. drag race mode or line pressure bump) are optional and disabled by default.

I’m always ready to learn more so I thank you for the knowledge about this topic.
