Ok the boomer tag gets dropped a ton on this site, so let me just say the boomers and the Gen Z folks have had a chance to grow up with manual cars. That said, they know why it is so much more addictive to drive a sports car when you need to control every minute by shifting.

The Millenials and Gen Z grew up with game boy's and X box controllers which are basically the same as the paddle shifters. So I get it!

So this car is a blast! It is like you are in a cockpit. The entire driving experience is one hand on the shifter and the other on the wheel. In any traffic situation it is like you are in your own Nascar race. At a red light this car is a sleeper to 98% of the people out there! You punch this thing at 20 MPH in first gear and the tires break loose.

This is 100 times more fun, manual or automatic than my old C8! My buddy and I went out early on a Sunday and I beat his C8 by two car lenghts from 60 to 120 mph....this turbo is amazing!

So the trolls that will slam me I am sure for something I said should be banned from this site, if that is all they do! Do the moderators watch that stuff!

do not give me any shit on my 6MT badge

Can you permanently disable auto-rev matching and hill assist? Such annoying features for those that can actually drive MT like they should be driven. The last car I had with auto-rev match was a 370Z.. and it was retarded.

Did you mean gen X at the beginning? and I'm a millennial and I've owned more Manual cars than automatics and my Supra and 3rd gen 4Runner are both manuals! So we're not all auto/paddle shift kids haha.

Your review provided just as much information and insight as your 6MT badge.

I believe you can disable the auto rev match in settings. But the hill assist not that I know of yet, which is disappointing, as I prefer without it. Hoping bimmercode can but haven’t looked into it much

also, millennial here, owned 15 manual vehicles….. and I freaking love the MKV MT and I don’t regret waiting 6 years to get what I wanted (yes I signed on supramkv in 2018 Waiting for a manual supra)

Lol. Nice “review”. I’m a millennial and I can drive stick, but way to generalize. My boomer father has an auto C7 Z06 and can’t drive stick.

Glad you’re happy with the manual. I’m perfectly happy with the auto.

And yeah man, keep the 6MT badge on. Will let others know you’re one of those “I’m special cause I drive a manual” type of owner.

If I’m not mistaken, but I think the license plate frame might also say something like “6 Speed” lol

I agree the blip of rev's pulling up to a red light is not needed

A bunch of us have looked at this point and it doesn't seem like there's a way to disable hill assist with Bimmercode unfortunately.

Am I the only one that likes IMT?
Before I bought the car I thought I wouldn’t like iMT. I thought “no manual car needs auto rev matching, how un-manly”, but it’s a nice aid since it keeps your revs pinned before letting off the clutch. I still blip the throttle on downshifts for fun to make it still feel like I’m doing something lol. iMT combined with the CDV, I find the Supra a nice smooth manual when just casually cruising/putting around town. I haven’t really experience the 1-2 issues people have had, but I haven’t done any hard acceleration shifts into the next gear and maybe I granny shift (400 miles on ODO). Also, I’m finding it hard to heel toe if I’m just casually coming to a stop. It’s easier to heel toe if applying harder braking force. I may just need to get used to the relatively sensitive brake pedal (seems like a typical BMW thing). I’ll probably wait until 2500 miles to cast any real judgement tho.
