Ok Gents, I am stupid. I live in Arizona and we are around 105-112 degrees right now. The manual says 0w-20 and one other one. Going by the Chart, should I be in the SAE 50 for Summer use then switch back to stock oil for winter? I am a little confused. I don’t track the car but I don’t baby it either. It’s stock. What Oil is a safe one to use here in Hell?

Holy crap- I stumbled on an elusive oil thread!!! What a stroke of luck.
Now I don't have to read my manual and can take advice from random people on the internet

I used to ask the same questions for the dozen or so sports cars I've owned. The old timers haven't changed their answer in 30 years since I started. Just run 5w30 Amsoil. In 20 years the answer probably won't have changed either.

I think I've read every oil thread and post on here since 2019. Lol.

The consensus appears to be Liqui Moly 5w-30.

I recently spoke to the oil tech guy at Liqui Moly after looking at their main and rod bearing clearance table. Oil viscosity recommendations in this table are based upon bearing clearances and operating oil temp. The website also contains an oil selection guide. For the GR Supra 0W-20 is specified. The Liqui Moly oil guy told me that their 0W-20 is based upon Toyota/BMW recommendations and warranty requirements. If you change the oil, yourself, you will need to have receipts that show 0W-20 synthetic oil that has the proper certifications., should there need to be covered engine service.
That's why I'm sticking with the factory-specified oil or Liqui Moly.

I bought liqui moly 6600 0w-20 c5 with the ceratec additive.

Spec as oem so should be good and I hope a better quality than their bmw oem oil.

You beat me to it lol.

On a more serious note, I run 5w30 because that’s what Mike Botti suggested. I also live in SC around the Columbia area, in the arm pit of the state.
