I swapped stock dp to AA a while back. about 10k miles already. Today I approached a thread where someone mentioned gasket between turbo and dp. Come this think about it, I dont think my AA had any gasket with it, or perhaps it was sealed on the dp rim it self.

In any case, should i be concerned running with out gasket between downpipe and turbo?

AA's come with the gasket already in the groove. You would know if it was missing.

I dont remember that part. Perhaps it was just on the pipe it self and I didnt notice? but still question stands, is it harmful to run without gasket?

It's literally a metallic O-ring type gasket that sits in the flange. Very easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

I got my AA DP 2nd hand and mine did not come with it. I knew something was off because I could hear the leak and smell it.

Yeah after driving I would get faint exhaust smell under the hood. I ordered a new gasket only a few days later so I didn't drive around like that for long.

Jeez, I just installed mine during the weekend and forgot to put the gasket.

So far no leaks, no smell, no nothing, the v clamp seems to be holding just fine. Still, I just ordered an OEM and I'll put it just in case next week.
