Currently running MHD+ w/AA catted DP, AWE track exhaust, MHD flex harness, and an e40 OTS map..

I'm looking to get a custom tune soon with the goal of achieving at least 500 whp. I'm wondering if catless is the difference between hitting 500 whp and not. Anyone making 500 whp with a catted DP and flex tune?

Why is the arbitrary number of 500 hp a dyno your goal? Dynos can read radically different and the car will perform better in favorable weather. So, why 500? A cool sheet to brag about? Why not aim for trap speeds or a 60-130 time and measure improvement?

Definitely for bragging rights bro.. Also, I was told I'd get all the girls if I had a 500 whp car..

Then hit it with Meth on a dynojet and sleep at night dreaming of those 480whp cars on a Mustang dyno beating you 60-130?

What’s wrong with setting a goal to achieve?

This made me lmao…

Mine is being tuned as we speak. I’m running catted pipes, and not willing to budge, I have a track car, but this ain’t it. Hoping for right around 550-580 at the tire. I am FBO with a DAW flowmax tho.

Pretty sure he is asking about stock turbo. Plenty of people make over 500whp on a larger turbo with a cat, myself included.
I’m sure he is. That’s why I mentioned it as a caveat… mostly I just wanted to let him know I thought his response was funny.

If you're unlocked, what's stopping you from upgrading the turbo?

I’m running a custom e50 tune on a catted downpipe. The 500whp is not as relevant as keeping the car below 600wtq. My 5th gear is pissed and refuses to stay engaged.

Following, but I think you can't compare the hp across different dyno.

I am about to get a BM3 OTS map with AA catted DP and flex fuel kit.
OP what tires are you running right now? I am still on OEM wheel with PSS but I am thinking to get a better tires and maybe with 285 or 295. Also wonder have you measure your 60-130 and 0-60 before vs after tune.

Good point. It sucks that the stock trans is the limiting factor on this car.. I just heard to stay below 600 lb-ft tq.. didn't realize I'd be hitting that at 500 whp. damn..
