basically yes
So if you lower FF on the adjustment setting and leave duty bias at 50 it’ll open the wastegate a bit more thru all the RPM band to let boost build essentially slower and hopefully not hit max boost causing a throttle closer?

or another way to say it is if I’m getting throttle closers when hitting high boost should I lower duty bias by RPM or lower FF on the other setting

Yes to both!

Adjust duty bias if it is only throttle closures in a specific RPM area, or FF if the whole RPM curve has throttle closures.

Different downpipes need different FF/duty curves, as the one standard on the JB4 is for stock dp.

Thanks! I lowered to 40 but only had time to quickly test it out so the run wasn’t too clean. A couple gaps along the run cause some wheel spin so I don’t know if this tells you much. I can run a cleaner run tomorrow if this isn’t helpful

It is improving, but shoot me a PM with a log at FF 30 and we can proceed from there to not blow up this thread. MTs can take a few revisions.

You don’t have any jerkiness? Throttle closures? Some people are saying that it’s not safe to put a piggy back on the car. As someone that has done it do you feel it’s bad?
No, it can be fixed with the new v24 firmware, but still takes more time to dial in than an AT car. I have done over a dozen MT cars by now.

Hi Guys.
I have a 2020 2 port Supra with JB4, dp, intake and semis.
With map 3 I am getting a 400m time of 12.2 and 60ft of 2.09.
Is this normal?
Please include a datalog, likely Map 3 is too much unless you are on E-blend, so post up a Map 2 log

New to the supra world. @razorlab persuaded me away from the Evo world after almost 2 decades lol.

Adam, If you could take a look at these logs I would appreciate it. I did a bunch, there is a map 0, 1, 2 and 4 in this, all on same road. The first map 0 was with barely any 93 left in the tank from a station which I was suspecting might have crappy 93, I then went and filled up with 93 from a different station, so all the following pulls after the 1st one are all with the new batch of 93. Car is bone stock. Looking to install a MAP catted downpipe soon.

Can i ask what the problem has been with MTs and JB4? And is it truly resolved or is there some tweaking involved to make it work? Looking to do a JB4 but was waiting for the MT issues to be completely resolved. Hope you dont mind going into more detail on this situation for us that havent jumped on board yet

Try this Map 6 (preferably on new V24 firmware)

Ok will do. I don't have to change any settings in the other areas do I?

Adam,

Here is the log after updating to MAP6 with the below numbers (also using V24 now).

SUPRA ULTIMATE JB4 GUIDE AND LOG REVIEW (V1)

Been a busy 5 months learning nearly everything there is to know about JB4 on the B58 platform. Funny how trying to get my catless MT running right turned into countless log reviews and custom tuning on the JB4tech.com forum. As Jesse said it best, it's all about experience.

Without further adieu, here is everything I know about tuning with this piggyback:

I will likely write more about options settings, Map 6 configurations, and some general diagnosis of common issues I have seen. I may elaborate a little more on the techniques I use to begin custom tuning a car at a later point.

Hope this helps you get started with JB4.

Since others have asked: Tips/donations not required but very much appreciated for guide support and log reviews! Venmo - @ColonelAdama
Oh, i'm definitely in this thread. Thanks soo much for contributing this. I've been running/learning the car on Map 1. here in Albuquerque, at the pump, best you can get is Chevron 91. It feels solid from a dig, or from a roll... although when driving in "normal' mode, i do get a bit more of the drone sound (louder).
mods:
MST cai
FTP chargepipe
CTS (catless) DP
HKS full Exh

on Freeway, from 75 roll, stomp the pedal and it'll climb 130+ quickly.

Pretty good already, just a little fine tuning.
Cool, I will update those and log again. So are the duty #s global for when I switch to another map they all use the same? Or does each map keep it's own duty #s?

I noticed that the boost on this map6 is similar to map1, is that correct? I am planning on putting in some E to get to E25, would I be able to run map2 boost with that to help with the timing?

Thanks again!
