What kind of hp gains can be expected from catless downpipe and JB4 custom tuning.

completely fuel dependent. On 93 probably around 40whp, on E30 up to 75whp I'd guess. Not sure on the impact of the downpipe, probably another 10-15whp on top of those.

So I just installed a high flow catted downpipe. Which duty numbers would be good to start with? Should FF be changed as well?


Try to keep trims under 45. If it is 45+ for multiple datapoints, you are not leaving yourself enough headroom.

Should I interpolate 1500-4k, so for example, + 1, +1, +2, +2, +3, +3 or should they all be the same number increase?

Yup, looks perfect! If anything, i'd just bump up the Duty's below 4500 a little (1-3)

Ideally, ecu_psi is about 1 psi below dme_bt

Checked your log again, Just try these:

Duty 50 up by 1, Duty 45 up by 1, Duty 40 up by 2. I don't think anything else will be needed.

I'm planning on ordering a JB4 and I also have an AA catted dp to be installed. This will go on my '24 M6. I've been reading this thread and it looks like the first thing I should do is to update the firmware with V24? Lower the FF across to 20-25 or wait to datalog before attempting to do so? I have tuned a previous car before with microsquirt and holley efi, but this piggyback thing throws me off.

For AA dp, I'd just start at FF 25 for the first pull and see how it looks from there.

MT range seems to be 15-25. My car is catless at 16. Have some high flow dp cars at 20. Stock cars around 25.

Oh interesting so catless needs lower. I have an AA catless I’m gonna put on too.

Also anyone have experience at 5k ft above sea level? We don’t have 93 here, just 91 is our top due to air density and psi bar being 12.5 at our altitude and not 14.5-14.7

Yeah, try it with FF=16, PID gain=15, these duty bias

Probably map 1 to start. And of course needs to be on Firmware V24

Not sure on the altitude, I figure the car will mostly adapt but we'll see how the log looks
