IMHO, this is the least outrageous item on that list. GT3 cars are all the rage rn. Even Ford built one out of a Mustang. Plus, building a race car is so much cheaper than designing and selling a low volume sports car.The most outrageous one from the list has already been spotted testing.
The MR2 is the most outrageous claim on that list, by a long shot. It's easy to see how Toyota could cobble together any of those other cars from existing platforms and components -- Mk6 Supra = RC-F chassis + V35A-FTS; Mk8 Celica = GR Corolla Coupe; Mk3 GR86 = modified Mk2 GR86. But I can't see the MR2 happening unless it's a 100% EV, a rebadged car from another brand (MR-718), or Japan-only (kei car). Even their GR GT3 car looks front-engine.
