I'm femto unlocked with MHD and I swap back to 93 oct, swap to oem downpipe, and flash to mhd ots stage 0 and select "oem downpipe" on checkbox. This will run the all the monitors and pass emissions, at least pass in the state of Missouri, by my personal experience. Or, if you have jb4 you can swap to oem inlet and not set codes.
Have your tuner give you a MHD mapping that ONLY has the crankcase heater coded out. It will pass inspection. That is what I do with mine.

So here is a good visual on what changes with the hybrid turbos. The biggest change is boring out that "step" in the compressor housing to accomodate a larger turbo. The actual bore itself also gets machined a bit depending on how much larger a compressor wheel they put in. You can see, even with my "small" Pure 700, the step is gone and the whole inlet is bored out a little more.

I might have to double check but I thought the bolt holes didn’t line up with the stock inlet so that can’t really be swapped back for inspection purposes.

If it’s still the OEM compressor housing and not a recast, the holes are in the same place.

Technically it would bolt on just fine, it just wouldn't seal and it would very much choke the flow. I would also worry about sucking in the o-ring with any boost since it is no longer sealing against the bore.
I don't disagree with what your saying, and you still could be correct, but I asked DAW this several times and they were persistent on saying it would fit. I do question they are correct.

Let's entertain that they are correct and the oem slip joint style inlet, with o-ring that seals inside the bore, does fit. This would mean the machined inlet bore of the housing is the same size as oem and they just get an increase in size by using their cast aluminum piece that matches the housing inlet bore (and seals by o-ring on the face of the housing) rather than slipping in the bore as the oem piece does, which of course reduces the size.

It still would be great if someone that has this unit can confirm or deny the accuracy of DAW claim.

Interesting, did not know this was possible. Are you enabling all monitors to run? Including cat monitor? In Missouri if one monitor that is required shows unsupported it will fail.

Yes, coding out the crankcase heater does not affect emissions monitors.

No, it's the heater, not the breather.

The crankcase heater is molded into the OEM inlet. You could MAYBE cut it out and figure out how to add it to an aftermarket inlet, but why? If you are upgrading your turbo, you should unlock your DME to actually take advantage of it and tune it properly anyway.

Sorry I meant can this piece be bored out to fit hybrid turbos?

You would need a way to seal it. On OEM compressor housing the green o-ring seals against the bore. Bored out hybrid turbos have a larger bore. If you also look, there is a slight step on the bolt flange. It's also probably deep enough that it could interfere with the larger compressor wheel.

Again, a lot of work for something that you should be tuning properly with an unlocked DME.

gonna cost you a cold pack if you want me to remove my inlet and check. ;)

however, KFBR392 has one on the way and should be able to switch them out to check.

Will let you all know when it arrives so we can see what's up with the inlet sealing.

possible? :dunno:

Assuming you can't just swap the inlets here and see? Or are these pics from the past?
