I read somewhere that production ends in 2026, How true is that ?
This is something A70TTR stated on this forum more than once when he was active. He referred to *model year* 2026, not actual year 2026.

That being said, Toyota could just make a lot of "2026" model year MKVs a bit into 2026? No idea there.

I heard that BMW plans to end production of the Z4 and the chassis itself and hence that's the main contributing factor to the end of the Supra after the 2026 model year. Can't confirm though.

I thought A70 addressed this also but I can't find the specific post.

I think all it amounted to was that BMW, Toyota and Magna-Steyr had the production timeline fully planned out to its end from the beginning... but as to whether it was primarily BMW's demand for the original end date in 2026? I don't know if he ever clarified that (?).

BMW (or just some folks with pull within BMW) seem to want to keep offering one of their few manual enthusiast models for a bit longer and however they justify it (especially if it also results in a few more MKV Supras in addition) I'm all for it.

Are we ever getting functional vents for this car? I mean buy the dope ones sold on here and find a way to make them functional ?‍♂

I remember reading in car mags that the plastic inserts would quickly be replaced with usable vents for tuners & aftermarket vendors. Yet here we are 6 years later… just 4 looks ?. Yet so many other goodies for this car available. Crazy how they got that one wrong. Maybe the next one will avoid that pitfall and add a dipstick. My two biggest gripes ;)

Ive heard that if you check the dipstick more than once you’re playing with it and you’ll go blind…

pretty soon we're going to be called LFRForum
The LFR / GT3 is a separate model. It's a good point though. What does this forum become when the Supra MKVI is on the horizon? And the post history-- hopefully that is all preserved.

This forum is a totally separately managed entity from SupraForums, correct? They do have an MKV generation section there.

Awesome, get ready for the used market to skyrocket even more. I can already sell mine more than I bought it for now.
Yep, mine just ticked over 12,000 miles and I think it’s hilarious that I could have driven all of them for only the price of my modifications. And make a profit off the car itself.

Who said cars are bad financial investments?

Honestly if Toyota does release a new generation of Supra on a 2.0 powertrain, I feel that will make the MKV Supra skyrocket in value. The people who want an I6 Supra far exceed the has to be a Toyota only fanboys that will buy the Supra. I can honestly say I don’t want it. Not even remotely interested. Faster or not out of the box -it’s not a Supra to me. I think this would be the majority of us that have purchased the MKV. I don’t know, but that’s just how I think. If Toyota does it, I don’t see it being an iconic name plate anymore regardless of specs. Car enthusiasts care, and we’re the ones buying the car. The sheer lack of buying 4 cylinder Supras to the point of discontinuing it all together in a few short years should be a message to Toyoya alone. I would be all over this powertrain in a beautiful MR2, because it’s known for its light weight and 4 cylinder turbo configuration. Car enthusiasm often relies on pulling on cars we remember and love. I truly don’t see Toyota not seeing the writing on the wall and if the Supra comes back it’s going to be many years down the road when Toyota had developed their own I6 engine or this is the last hurrah for the Supra legacy, some things are are best left alone.

Don't rule out a six cylinder. Toyota didn't dump several billion dollars into the US pipeline for no reason. It was a "warming gift" for the co-operation. Toyota six and eight cylinders are pretty safe, for now.
