Most of the outlets are saying V8 turbo hybrid. I also think the camo, angle, and camera lens is playing tricks on the eyes. Here is a side profile shot of the concept.

I love the super long hood and proportions. Beautiful. Where the Mercedes SLR McLaren had similar proportions, with all due respect to the SLR, this design looks better with them overall.

V8 twin turbo hybrid non-manual is what I have heard since its inception. I think A70 or some news outlet alluded to some version of the engine in non-hybrid V8 twin turbo form originally having been developed for the LC-F that never happened. That body was not considered up to the task apparently.

Then the engine as developed to that point was repurposed and taken further for the GR GT3 / LFR with twin turbos *and* a hybrid system.

Whatever the powertrain actually is I love how it sounds in the spy videos.

Toyota using non-GR camo on this first public appearance makes me think they've given up on the Toyota "GR GT" brand they'd trademarked and will instead position this car as a Lexus, forgoing the great value proposition we had with the GR Supra

Paraphrasing, one of the test drivers said they have been working on this car for over 4 yrs. Right now they are working on the trunk opening, it's not quite ready but it's almost there.
