Like someone else said below it's fastest average speed track in the Southeast. Yes there is minimal elevation change but the speed is fantastic. I always say each track teaches you a new component. Roebling teaches you about living on the slip angle. Being right on the edge of grip at very high speed.

CMP is all about slow corners and managing traction to exit. Roebling is a grass roots track, it doesnt carry the history or facilities as something Sebring, Road Atlanta, Barber etc. But its a great testing track and is usually very cheap to run with any organization.

My s2000 only makes 240whp and it beats almost every car in TT with NASA. So I can agree that the sweet spot for RRR is medium horsepower, sticky tires, aero and a good suspension.

Don't get me wrong, I love Barber and all the rest of those. My home track is Sebring so I understand getting excited about elevation change lol
How does it compare to PBIR? I liked PBIR but it was small and repetitive, imo. Homestead is just on the edge of being too small and Sebring I love for all the reasons Ron mentioned. It’s big, different surfaces, you can muck it up anywhere along the way. Thus being consistent at that track is pretty satisfying.

My personal bucket list: Watkins Glenn, Road America, COTA, Laguna Seca and VIR (once that last kid is outta the house). Then head over to Europe, rent a car and drive SPA, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, Hockenheimring, Circuit de la Sarthe and extra credit, dream on bucket - Suzuka.

Chin has trips & itineraries that would make it easy to start checking those suckers off! With a Supra you can drive on track to boot 👢

PBIR (rip) was completely different. Way slower and lined with concrete walls. T4/5, T6, and T10 were so long but taught you throttle rotation. The surface of PBIR was made of crushed shells so it TORE up your tires. Roebling is smoother and much, much faster (and only 1 concrete wall, the pit divider). It is scary how many people hit that thing.
I watched someone get paralyzed from hitting it on a track day. So many cars hit that wall they said they have to paint it every month or every other month. But it's not as scary as it seems. Just dont go wide at T9, dip your left rear and stay in it. Simple! In the s2000 I'm at 118mph at the exit curb of T9.

I love that Sebring (though no elevation) is so long that its very difficult to string together a perfect lap. I've also turned between 1,000 and 2,000 laps there so maybe I'm biased.

I can agree that VIR is a lot of fun. The uphill esses flat out until South Bend is epic. Then the 120ft drop of Rollercoaster into Hog Pen. Id love to do Watkins and Road America. And one day go abroad.

I'll be doing VIR soon enough (next Spring). I was there as a photographer for the SCCA Runoffs a few years back.

I raced Road America a lot back in the 80's and 90's. It used to be my favorite track until I got to Barber. The elevation change is great, the Carousel is a blast, Canada Corner a challenge and beware of the Kink! They have recently made some improvements there, but back around 1990 a friend spun her GT5 Mini there and got broadsided by a GT1 Camaro. Because of her death, another friend of mine quite racing SCCA because they wouldn't separate the GT4&5 cars from the much bigger, faster GT1&2 cars.

Fantastic photos and what a story! I was headed for the big like or luv button, until the death ☠ part 😱. Damn dude… sorry about your loss and glad they fixed it.

That's the thing about racing. I did it for 15 years and I was a participant at 2 races where a driver was killed (1 was a friend and the other an acquaintance) and 3 others where drivers were seriously injured. One was a good friend who had his feet crushed when his Formula Ford went through an armco barrier. Lucky for him, the race was at Indianapolis Raceway Park and it was during the weeks of practice at the Speedway and the best doctors were always at the hospital. It was 9 months before he walked without ski type boots (to protect his healing bones) and crutches. It happens. And the risk was probably greater back in the 1980's. Safety equipment and tracks have improved a lot. But even at a simple track day, it can still happen. A 100+ mph in a street car is always somewhat dangerous.

So true! I was at a really well known mega safe sponsor/host (or whatever they’re called) track event. I literally saw a Lexus flip up in the air and come apart. I can’t even remember why it happened. But the track crew was amazing! Great response time and got the peeps to the hospital ASAP. Saved the guy (and passenger). Is that rare? Oh hell yes. But it can happen.

Going to Lime Rock Park this weekend with Gridlife. What is a reasonable time there? Classic config, I know it's a relatively short lap.

Bolt ons + pump 93 tune, 275 200tw tires, no aero, stock shocks.

I would check out @razorlab build thread / videos, and also Petes. But Peter has more aero than basically any car active on this forum...so his times may be a bit more unobtaniumable.

Yeah I saw Razorlab turning 57s in the video he posted the other day, but he has quite a bit more go-fast parts than I do.

Guess we'll find out in a couple days 😅

I used your CMP video to prep for my trip. I couldn't get close to yours 😒

But I was also on staggered ECFs @ 38psi 😂

Probably go by whatever last year's results were. Sounds like you would be in street gt?

I had pretty optimal conditions when we ran with GL earlier this year. I struggled to get below 1:43.00 when I ran a couple months later with SCCA. The track really falls off once summer hits in the Southeast. If you had a good time, try hitting it in March-April or maybe October-November.

Yep, I run in Street GT. I had tickets to Lime Rock the last two years but didn't make it out. 3rd times the charm. Assuming UPS gets here with my last minute brake parts that I overnighted from CA...

Noticed some issues with my driver side rotor and pad wear so went ahead and rebuilt the calipers. I added the RacingBrake stainless steel pistons “while I’m in there” and also did Spiegler lines and fresh SRF.

Got it all back together last night. Tested on the street just now to ensure I won’t die and all seems well. Brakes feel genuinely better. We’ll see how it goes at Lime Rock.
