Pretty good video from tire rack testing 3 groups of tires.

I went with a set of Nexen N'fera Sport R's for this season and must say I'm not overly impressed. In Grassroots testing they're apparently marginally quicker than a V730 and are meant to wear more like an enduro 200 vs. a super 200, but mine started to chunk after 3.5 track days . I've got 2 track days left so I'll likely need to get a new pair of fronts.

For reference I run a 9.5F/10.5R with a 255/275 setup. I was only able to get -2.8° of camber before the spring made contact with the strut tower. MSS HAS springs and Verus camber plates, but I do also have the OEM Camber Correction Swivel Bearings from my autocross days, so I'm wondering if that was part of my issue 🤷‍♂️.

Sometimes chunking/peeling like that can be the tire overheating in that area. Are you using a pyrometer? (get one) As you already suggested, more camber would likely help - but you may also be overdriving the tires (adding heat). If they're just peeling on the shoulder like that I'd assume its heat/camber related.

Did some tire testing this past weekend between A7, R7, and RE71RS. The A7's I got as takeoffs and seemed to be under 3 heat cycles as they were still sticky to the touch. The R7's were also takeoffs listed to be around 5 heat cycles. The RE71RS I've used for a good chunk of the year so maybe 15-20 heat cycles.

A7's felt like god mode as expected and ran low 1:32 at ABCC in two different sessions. Really takes a big mental reset and adjusting to brake 50-100ft later and keep feeding throttle through turns. RE71RS were pulling 1:34 and R7s were 1:35.

A7 and RE71RS were mostly the same in terms of getting up to ideal operating temp and how long peak grip was available. Ambient temps was 70-80*F and they turned on during the first green lap and then being ready to go for lap 2 and 3. R7's had insane heat tolerance. I went out with them at 110*F and pulled a 1:35 on first green lap and still hit another 1:35 on lap 10.

I was expecting a little better grip out of the R7's but for the heat tolerance trade off I was extremely impressed. I've never run on a tire that could put out that kind of consistency and it was really nice for being able to test micro-adjustments over and over on the same corner during the same session. I got them for $200/set so well worth the money I paid for them and they were meant to be my practice tires anyway. The pace of the RE71RS and longevity still continue to impress me, they are definitely my go-to Super 200.

My best lap from the weekend with the A7's. Lower ambient temp and better track conditions would have helped but very pleased given I haven't been on track in 4 months.

Is there any recommended bigger turbo setup with reliability in mind? Like pure900 or DAW maxflows etc ? Thinking about fitting larger turbo on lwoer boost to have less heat...

You are capped at a certain power level correct? I wouldn't go as big as a 900. Pure 650 or 800.

Since you are EU I imagine you have a 2 port car as well.

Yes, 2 port. Power cap is only relevant if i wana stay in my class, so around 450whp max. Otherwise i land in highest HP class and there is no upper limit anymore.
So change only for effciency/lower temps mostly.

Okay, then you can't do a Pure900 anyway. 450whp max? Pure 650

450whp max, for now. I will prob move to fastest class at 1 point anyway. Was thinking sth between 800-850 but i heared pure is kinda unreliable ?

What power are you allowed if you move class?

Name an aftermarket turbo for the Supra and I can tell you stories about them failing.

So far I have had pretty good luck with Pure.

There is no 850 anymore. 600/650/800/900

If i move up? Unlimited as its highest p/w cars so 3RS, 720S etc, can run even 700whp if i fancy :)
I heared DAW is somehow better designed then Pure thats why i ask if there is any more info here.

I'd go with a kit with a proper brand name turbo eg Garrett.

As we discussed elsewhere I'm running the Alpha 8 kit which uses a Garret 3582 at around 680whp without heat issues,
Probably wouldn't recommend the kit at this point though as the wastegate set up is finicky and the turbo is a generation behind.

If I was starting from scratch I'd maybe do something like this
https://golebysparts.au/collections...30-off-6boost-toyota-supra-b58-turbo-manifold

plus

https://www.turbosmart.com/product/...-kompact-v-band-0-96ar-externally-wastegated/

You would also have to budget for a gearbox build.

Not sure if anyone has seen this or not, but Pitt Race is unexpectedly closing it's doors at the end of this season. I guess the owners sold it to a data center developer. Unreal!
