Ah do you have like a basic harbor freight obd2 reader? Or any kind like that? You can use those to get the CID and CVN.

Will OBDlink CX work?

If you have BimmerLink you should be able to access the DMEs CID and current CVN.

Just wanna compare your unlocked numbers to my locked DME out of curiosity for future smogs

I don’t have obdlink cx so I dunno lol

Yes, you can use the
OBDLink CX to get your vehicle's Calibration Identification (CID) and Calibration Verification Number (CVN). While the OBDLink CX is optimized for BimmerCode, it supports standard OBD-II and advanced diagnostics, allowing it to read ECU information like CIDs and CVNs.
  • How to Get CID/CVN: You can use the free OBDLink app (Android/iOS) to read this information by connecting to the ECU and querying the necessary PIDs (Parameter IDs).
  • Alternative Method: Since the OBDLink CX is frequently used for BMW/Mini with the BimmerCode app, you can also use BimmerCode's expert mode or diagnostic features to identify ECU calibration data, as the adapter provides full coverage of BimmerCode-supported vehicles.

Not a Corvette.
Confirmed today that CVN does indeed change with MHD.

This is my M240i before and after flashing it with MHD.

I'm assuming once I flash back to stock/OEM it should go back?

That’s what I wanted to see, what the CIDs and CVN look like before and after unlock without MHD.

Flashing back to stock map with MHD installed, your CVN will still change and not match OEM spec. But supposedly if you’re relocked or flashed by the dealer it should revert to OEM spec, even with the permanent unlock.
