Common in ATL as well. Common Chargers (not the hellcats) and a bunch of older modded Infinity cars find me all the time in ATL and want to play fast and the furious around 285. I just shake my head and find another podcast to drown out their nonsense.

Hardly ever happened to me in Sydney and my car has an aero kit with a big wing and a flashy colour. The hoon laws here are so straight that people mostly don’t street race anymore as there are a lot of better things to enjoy then ending up wrapped around a tree or in jail

here in the dessert SW (NewMexico) not Mejico... street racing happens all the time. kids hanging out the window tiktok video'ing when i paddle shift passing them. thumbs up... they leave you alone afterwards. If the roads are clear... sometimes it's a necessity.

Where are all these Western Suburb Supra's? I never see you guys around! I see the same wrapped purple one about once a month in the summer.

Well, this happened outside my neighborhood late Friday night and killed power in a 1 mile radius. The speed limit on that 6-lane road is 45mph (it used to be 55mph until accidents started occurring more frequently).

I’m not saying they were street racing, but you’d have to be going really fast to take out an electrical pole and shred vehicles like that. There was at least 1 fatality- female was pinned under a Tesla and fire dept could not save her in time. Three 18-year old boys were in the Dodge Charger EV and the driver was taken to the hospital and in ICU. It looks like a third Tesla was also involved.

People be driving like YOLO on the streets here when they should be driving like YODO.

Yea it's predominately an American thing, like rollin coal, spinner wheel covers, a revolver in the glove compartment and cars that look like Graceland on wheels. I've been driving performance cars for want of a better description for 20 years and I've only had 1 guy pull up next to me at the lights and he didn't want a race just wanted to see me launch the car hard.

Need to rant a bit - please feel free to call me unc like my kids do 😂

I like a nice weekend drive in the Supra, and sometimes a good time for that is on a Friday or Saturday evening. Here in the Chicago suburbs, that means having multiple people in one evening drive like suicidal maniacs when they see my car. Last night I had a dude in a Camaro acting crazy trying to line up with me while I’m cruising at 60mph, even leaning halfway out of his window motioning for me to line up. What in the Need For Speed - Dude, leave me alone. He finally gave up. Then about 15 minutes later, a guy in a ratted out old 3 series bimmer tailgated me so hard, I am sure there was less than 6” between our bumpers while going like 20mph in downtown traffic. He’s flashing his lights at me and weaving, then when I hit the turn lane, he flies by at WOT over 3 sets of train tracks to probably 60mph in a super busy area. I don’t get it - you like my car and consider yourself a ‘car guy’ so you do things that risk damaging my car? I’ve got black stock wheels on right now with all seasons - so the car looks nearly stock in its winter form. I’m not running around with a big wing and a flame tune…

I can ignore people, that’s fine, but some of these instances are either dangerous or risk damaging my clean car or make it look like I’m participating in hooning in busy traffic or where there are pedestrians.

I’ve had this car for over 2 years, and have shown people (wife, coworkers, friends) while driving that the mere sight of a Supra makes some people instantly floor their own car, even if headed the other direction - wtf? And it’s usually the shittiest, most ratted-out cars imaginable. Last night had me wondering if I should sell the car, though I’m not sure I really want to do that. I occasionally expect to let my teenage son drive it and I don’t need people doing crazy shit around him.

<end old man yells at cloud.exe>

Is this a common experience or just a Chicago thing or am I just a boring dude? 😂
Get one of those LED display in your rear view and set it to say "fuck off".

For the guys who pull up next to you, blow them a kiss and give them a wink, they lose interest real fast.

I have this on the back of my Supra. You'd be surprised how effective it is at tailgaters with ego issues. I can see someone flying up to me to "race" or tail gate to be assholes and see this and back off. I kid you not, they read it then back off and leave like 3 car lengths 🤣🤣 Can't have a stranger think they have a small PeePee!! Its perfect because its super subtle and literally can ONLY be seen, when well, tailgating haha

Live in the prime SoCal area. 35 is all you get up to on the freeway, on a good day. 15 is side streets. Too much traffic for racing unless you wait until midnight. Even if I wanted to race someone, I couldn’t. Still get those people that pull up next to you and start revving though….
