OEM Remote Start for Toyota Supra - No ECU Unlock or Additional Hardware Required

Hi everyone,

After a long development and testing process, we finally made it happen for the Toyota Supra.

Our OEM Remote Start Retrofit is now available without an ECU unlock and without any additional aftermarket hardware. The solution uses the factory vehicle systems and is fully integrated with the OEM interface, so there are no extra modules, separate remotes, or visible modifications.

The retrofit works just like a factory-installed feature and keeps everything clean and OEM-style.

Important: The car must be completely stock. If the vehicle is currently tuned, the existing tune will be removed during the retrofit process, and the car will need to be retuned afterward.

That depends on unlock, there are plenty out there's nowadays. To be specific, you'll lose a tune for sure, if you lose an unlock, depends on method.

I understand the concern - it is a significant price for an upgrade. That said, a lot of time and resources likely went into the development, and the product’s exclusivity also affects the pricing. Selling it for around $100 might generate more sales, but probably not enough to offset the much lower margin and ongoing support costs.

If I simply need to reflash my tune with MHD, I'm down, and I'm sure most folks here would be too... I've got a backup, no big deal. If I have to send my ECU out to Autotuner or femto for a security downgrade, get a bench unlock, and ask my tuner for an updated tune because of an istep update and my rom changes... it's gonna suck.

This. Autotuner is maybe 2hrs away from me, but I don't want to go through all that hastle, not having a garage and all.

It depends on the ECU’s current software version and the type of unlock being used. There are several options available, and not all of them will necessarily cause you to lose the unlock.

However, if the car has a custom tune, you will definitely need a new tune based on the updated ECU software.

To clarify, you should be prepared for the possibility that the existing unlock may be lost, that the ECU may need to be unlocked again depending on the method used, and that the car will definitely need to be retuned.

There are simply too many variables to give one universal answer. Anyone who is not prepared to potentially re-unlock and retune should probably avoid this option, as this is a limitation of the Supra’s software and there is no alternative workaround.

That said, I think it is great that this functionality is now possible without requiring additional hardware.
