I understand where you guys are coming from but dealers are not going to revamp over one low selling car. My service department writes up on average 250 cars a day and 320 on Saturdays. 90% of those cars are done the same day.

I had a bmw come in for a recall on the screen brightness 2 Saturdays ago. I had at least 5 cars on my box ahead of him. He waited his turn.

I don’t work in sales but doesn’t the land cruiser cost much more? They don’t get snacks or water either.
I’m not suggesting we jump the line. You’re correct that some cars sell for more. It’s not about that, it’s about the customers they’re courting. We aren’t Toyota buyers and we’re not the usual customers. Toyota wants us and knows who we are, it would behoove them to consider that we’re used to a level of service equivalent to the premium Toyota experience (Lexus).

You’re talking about the manufacture. The dealer is there to service cars quickly and efficiently as possible. Don’t take this the wrong way but it’s not the dealers (service depo) problem if you’re used to a different kind of experience.
I feel like I’ve been clear but I’m referring to things that Lexus does like wrapping the steering wheel to prevent scrapes, snacks and beverages, plush waiting areas, etc... THAT experience, not the actual repair and service itself which is no doubt the same.

I disagree..... Been a Toyota customer almost 10 years. My dealer has courtesy cars, shuttle and will even Lyft you if the shuttle is taking too long at no cost.

Waiting room has coffee and water.... And service is great.

I can text with my service manager, schedule my appointments online and via text and have no complaints.

Very happy here....

Are we seriously complaining about not getting juice when servicing our sports cars.
Say what you will. When I took the phone survey they asked if I had considered cars like the M2 Comp (I had). They want my business and the business of others like me. They have it (barely) for now, and would do well to listen to this new segment of customers they’d like to retain.

It’s not often that the loyalists to the German cars jump ship and buy Japanese.

You’re just not going to get the treatment you’re talking about at a Toyota dealer.
Again, which is why I say they should punt us to Lexus.

BTW, I just loved hearing how none of you want to work on these cars. So great (sarcasm).

just give it time. they did the same thing with the frs. "I dont want to work on this subaru" dont hear that anymore. Or with the yaris Mazda lol. I'm just happy that the techs are going to be able to work on the supra after all. At the beginning they were saying service would have to be done at bmw. The fact that that changed made me buy one. The whole toyota service thing needs to be updated but the only way that will change is if enough people complain about it. Normal toyota owners dont care about all that. They are happy with popcorn and bottled water lol. Should they fix that? Yes..but they wont until they start losing business. These dealers do need to evolve a bit and get used to spending a bit more money in areas they don't normally do...they need to match customer waiting area to their level of service (which is great.) ...their waiting area and amenities Not so great lol. I'm sure they will all change their standards

Not sure why anyone wold wait for any type of service/diagnosis/repair. Especially on one of these cars. Just puts the dealer in a bind to get the car done as quickly as possible.

I went through this with the check engine light for the same issue. You need to do two things: shut the car off completely when refueling and turn the gas cap past the clicking noise till it stops when done.
