trim out.
The other rattle I had on my passenger side ended up being a window key lock box that my dealer left wedged under my passenger seat. :rolleyes1:
Heh, I had a clunk when taking corners occasionally for a week or so until I found another tow hook under my passenger seat :dunno:

Wrapping the door pins once with electrical tape actually fixed my door rattles. Some BMW forum guys did this in place of removing the trim piece and adding felt, so I went with this as I'm not comfortable yet with prying the trim out.

So far 90% of the rattles seems to be gone.
You just left electrical tape over it one time and it fixed it?

^^^ Are you saying the parking brake is applied automatically when shifting to Park? Mine doesn't do that but would love that as I have other vehicles that apply automatically in Park.
I wish this car did this as well. Maybe they can do a software update for it!

I've had the rattle in the gauge cluster (or steering column or surrounding area?) a few times now. Weird thing is it's far from consistent, so I'm not going to even bother taking it to the dealership yet. I can guarantee it will behave perfectly until I get it back from them... and then it will likely have another paint problem (when they did the battery charge/registration they chipped a bit on the top fender).

I've had rattles that sounded like it was coming from somewhere in the front of the cabin, sort of in the gauge cluster, so I tried adding some foam tape around a removable cover in the drivers side engine bay that rattled when I shook it around. I've only driven about 10 minutes with this done, but the rattle hasn't come back for me yet. I'll edit the post after I test this out more.

I'll definitely be giving that a test. Still think there's something in the steering column itself or around gauge cluster - to me it sounds like maybe a harness connector not solidly zip tied or sleeved maybe. Don't notice until rough road... then it gets annoying. However, your fix is dirt cheap anyway and can't hurt anything to try regardless!

Just killed a major rattle, if you are hearing a rattle behind and just cant seem to pin point what it is.....Remove the 3rd brake like cover on the hatch. You have to give it a good pull to unclip it, straight back and out. Line it with electrical tape or foam tape/weather stripping and slap it back on. Boom, no more rattles behind you....

I need to try this. I definitely have the gauge cluster creak/rattle sometimes. It's very inconsistent, but still annoying when happens.

I do have like a clicking/tick that comes from engine bay when I start the car and it idles sometimes. I take this for the BMW motor just being really loud. I have heard BMW's tick/click and is normal?

Anyone getting a cargo cover rattle? I ended up removing mine for the time being.

I padded the bottom of the cover (which sorta got rid of a vibration sound but the rattle remains) but it feels like maybe the metal clips that the cover clips into are themselves vibrating. I'm going to attempt to pad the clips next but we'll see how that goes.

Also check that it's firmly seated in the clips... it can look like it is, but a firm push on one of mine still clicked a bit and solved that rattle without extra parts/tweaks.

I’ve had the rattle by the seatbelt since about 350 miles. Drives me crazy sometimes lol
I think that is literally the play in the seatbelt buckle.

It’s up around where the seatbelt attaches to the pillar, not at the buckle. I just turn the radio up when it gets bad lol
