Any reputable shops in Ohio? I’m located in the Cleveland-Akron area. Thanks!

I've got no idea, but I'd be interested, too. I know there was one BMW tuner down in Cincinnati that'd probably work on a Supra, but I don't even recall their name.

A local tuning shop told me they’d need the car for several days to get it “dialed in 100%” using the MHD platform. Makes me very wary - is that a red flag, or normal?

If you have as simple bolt on car then they likely don't have experience on this platform. I would recommend looking elsewhere. Not many shops have exeperience and quite a few just sell MHD shelf maps.

Ok - what about just a reputable shop for bolt-ons, suspension/alignment? I'd prefer to find a shop that has worked on this car..

Not sure many shops in Ohio have worked on this car yet, but for what it's worth, I'm taking mine for non-warranty, non-ToyotaCare work to the same shop I go to with my 335i. They specialize in German cars and they've done good work with the 3, so I figure, the Supra shouldn't be too hard for them to work on. Plus they loved it when I dropped by the other day, one of the guys had actually just done a track day at Mid-Ohio with one on some slicks and said it was the most fun he'd ever had on a track.

All that being said, if I were someone looking for a shop for that sort of thing, I'd look for a BMW/German specialty shop over a Toyota/Japanese one. Sorry can't give any direct recommendations in NEO.

Right on... TPG tuning is in Pittsburgh (2 hours away), and they have an A90 supra. I forgot about these guys because haven't heard from them since last fall, but they had the first 10 second supra.

Yeah I had heard good things too, but that’s the shop that told me they needed the car a few days to get it 100% dialed in. I don’t want my car to be the guinea pig for a shop to play around and get to know a new car. A few days to tune a car with just a dp and intake???

I’ll take the 2 hour drive to TPG or get an etune from Marin

Coming from the Evo world previously i can tell you that lots of horror stories with evo's among other cars originate from that place (TPG). Also a couple days to do a tune isn't bad, tunes take time... its not like you press 3 buttons and boom you have more safe/reliable power... do you want it to be rushed and not run at its full potential/poorly?

Cody at redline is the best around and most honest as far as i can tell. If he wants to take his time it’s probably because he wants to make sure it’s done absolutely right. He tuned my car so good it cured my HIV. Just don’t bring beans around his shop.
