Seems a bit overly complicated, but whatever, I'm down for it if it's true. I guess Toyota gets a two-fer in reviving their old marques lol.
Why do people have to word things like that. I find the new rumors to be a little odd, but than again other car makers have taken a similar approach with cars like the Firebird & Trans-Am.

...Second , because of the naming , the price of the base car should not go to 55k-60k territory and start from around 40k and reach maybe 55k top with all extras and stuff. Now for the GR supra , performance should be as high as possible with a reasonable price tag , i believe 60k-65k would be good? What do you guys think .
I can see your logic - and hope you are right on the pricing. If the base model is $60-65k in Canada it's going to be a hard sell. Here you can get a 330 hp 370Z with Akebono brakes, LSD, Bose, rev-matching manual and forged alloy 19" Rays for around $31-32k with a bit of negotiation.

I agree with those thoughts as well, the Celica should start around $40k because it's competition will be the 370Z. The Z is old however and the Celica will be FAR faster around the track due to it's crazy low weight, so the bump in premium is justifiable IMO.

GRMN/TRD could then come in from $60-65k and they would have a decent line-up feature wise and price wise.

So that means also Celica is returning? The Supra will be a different model or just a longest version of Celica like on the past? That's what I didn't understand!

Ok! I'm 50/50 cuz I hoped Supra for the original and the Gazoo version! But with Gazoo version Supra will have the Toyota logo isn't it? (PS: So now i think maybe they trademarked Celica cuz of this! that's logic! Ok i'm a little sad cuz of Celica being the official model , but happy that Supra name is returning!)

So all of this is a part of Toyota putting three sports cars lineup as said by Tada months ago?

Hahahahaha. TMC is an asshole for keeping everybody in the dark on this project. If celica as the base model is true then I guess the SFR might fill in the spot of the 86 when discontinued.Especially in size I think it competes better with Miata

If this counts as two different cars in their 3 sports car lineup they could have just saved themselves some trouble and added a Celica and Supra trim to the 86.

I thought the same thing, at least Celica wise... why not add 50-70hp to the 86, change the interior and exterior up a bit with the same chassis and sell it for ~$35k? I've held that opinion for years now, but what do I know...

that said, I think the funniest thing of all is that many people are likely going to buy the Celica, modify it to make the same power, install some of the Supra mods, and essentially have the same car for a lot less money lol. It's the same reason no one buys the 370Z Nismo; it brings nothing to the table that the aftermarket and a few pieces from the dealer cant achieve all without the premium.

I would have bought an 86 years ago without the Scion badge. Now it's at the end of it's model life so I'm waiting to see what's next. I just hated that brand. Hell, they could have sold me the same exact car with a Lexus badge for $35k.

I always said, and I was 110% serious, that I would have bought the car even as a Scion (rather Toyota but w/e) had it come with a traditional inline-4 or a V6.

I'm not a fan of Subaru motors (unreliable, heavy, and overcomplex in my opinion).

In this day and age, did nobody have one of those spy glasses that can video or take images inconspicuously?

I mean come on! :dunno:
