If the Toyota Corolla gets a Manual, with reference of being a canyon cruiser and the Supra does not I'll be dammed.
Don't get excited too early, it's probably a different beast with the BMW based electronics, like Jeff said.

So this corolla has an intelligent manual transmission and TSS 2.0. What's the reason the supra can't have a manual again?

Because Supra is using BMW engine, but Corolla is using Toyota Engine?
True it's all about money. TSS can work with a manual but Toyota doesn't see a reason to fork out the R&D funds to make it work with a BMW drive train that's only going to be used on one car. Some people were saying that Just because it was a manual it would be difficult to incorporate TSS. Just clarifying, lol.

Assumptions:

You are getting the Supra
Supra does not have a manual transmission
there is aftermarket manual transmission

Question:

Will you do this modification or you will save the money for some other modifications?

I agree... not buying this "bmw electronics" bs.

Also, why does Toyota talk all about how great this new 2.0 turbo is but never mention the hp? ...because its only 168 hp. Why cant they make it at least 220 to compete with the VW GOLF and all the other hot hatch cars with 200+ hp 2.0l engine?

No, I'm not big into aftermarket stuff. Intake, exhaust, and wheels are fine but an aftermarket tranny... I'm not that brave. I like to buy cars that are close to what I want stock.

No manual = no supra for me.

I will most likely swap in a manual if the car doesn't come with one, yes.

This. I'm pretty set on getting an Elise 220R if the Supra doesn't come with a manual... or nothing at all and just keep the change to save up for a house. Where I can build a proper garage with lift. And then put an Elise in it.
