Unfortunately that is unlikely, as is the German connection. Those things will only matter to a few and will continue to be brought up. The rest of us have moved beyond those things to see what the car will become. Also, people need to get over the NoJZ
I'm damned excited to see what the new engine can do. I think it'll surprise everyone.Unfortunately that is unlikely, as is the German connection. Those things will only matter to a few and will continue to be brought up. The rest of us have moved beyond those things to see what the car will become.
I don't think anyone here cares anymore about it not having a 2JZ or a bespoke Toyota engine. Most people have moved on from that. Only people who I see complaining still are dumbfvcks who will never own or drive the car on Youtube comments or dogsh!t garbage like Chris Harris/Doug Demuro. I mean sure, I don't think we will see 1500-2000hp builds with the A90 like we saw with the A80 2JZ. But for the 90% of people out there, the stock A90 is fast enough. I mean its a B58. You can easily push 600-700hp from it with bolt ons and a tune. You really don't need more power than that. Hell, I'd be happy with the stock hp. The A90 isn't designed to be a drag car, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, or highway roll racing monster like the previous A80 was. Sure the A80 was able to handle but you didn't see most people build them for that. They were all mostly built for drag racing, 1/2-1 mile top speed runs or highway roll racers. You rarely see a A80 Supra at an autocross event or trackday. Where I have a feeling the A90 will be huge in time attack and trackdays seeing how the car was designed for that...handling. And for that purpose, you don't need a 2000hp top end monster.Damn I like that yellow.
Also, people need to get over the NoJZ
You say "It's frustrating as hell to watch car reviews that are tainted" but as usual, you are blind to the preconcieved negative bias that is also taints many reviews, and is clear in your own perspective, which makes you "un-objective", friend. Those who dismiss much of the Doug and Chris reviews do so because they recognize a negative bias in their review, in their tone, in the things they harp on, the things they are obsessed with, the same way you recognize certain things that cause you to categorize some reviews as being positively biased.Prob is you cant just throw out legitimate and valid concerns because you don't like hearing them.
Saying someone is garbage or a dumbs#1t purely because you don't like what your hearing just gives them more fuel for the argument.
Doug, Chris and a handful of other reviewers have plenty of valid points.
If you don't agree, then either counter it with valid counter arguments, or if they are right - suck it up.
The MkV has flaws. Every car does - the perfect car doesn't exist, so any car review which doesn't point them out isn't a car review, its paid/sponsored advert, and in the case of the new supra, many reviewers have admitted receiving rewards for reviews, and indirectly producing sponsored content.
It frustrating as hell to watch car reviews which are tainted. The worst I saw was a MkV review a while back where they take an uneducated yet very attractive blonde, told her to do a review, and put her in an almost painted on tight green outfit. The whole thing was solely designed exploit the viewer, by assuming the product cant sell itself, and that we are all stupid enough to fall for the T'n'A marketing gimmick. She then went on to review the car and said nothing but "this car is sooo great", and couldn't point out a single a single flaw, and worst still she even begin directly insulting her industry colleagues who had concerns about the transmission.... "Little boys, whats your problem, your insecure"... this is coming from someone who's directly attempting to exploit and manipulate the viewer with her tits.
Yet despite the clear bias and almost certainly sponsored content, the ever growing cult of the MkV fanboy club gets behind her and talks as though this is the way all reviews should be, and retaliates with the 10 year old's answer of "anyone who doesn't agree is a dumbs#1t idiot looser who doesnt know anything."... all it serves to do is make doug and chris seem far more credible in their analysis. Much Like this new video below, which is well balanced, yet being hated up on by the MkV fanboy club because it doesn't spew out "all hail, glory, glory to the suuupra!!" in every sentence:
You misogynistic, sexist piece of fucking shit. Girl on Swiss Roads actually knows her shit about cars and expressed her genuine opinion about the Supra. So since it was a positive review, are you going to shit on Guff and Redline Reviews as well? Fucking asshole. Way to target someone like that. Fuck outta here and don't come back with your attitude. It frustrating as hell to watch car reviews which are tainted. The worst I saw was a MkV review a while back where they take an uneducated yet very attractive blonde, told her to do a review, and put her in an almost painted on tight green outfit.
Do you think it could be an early listing for the TRD performance options for future orders (non LE models)? After seeing these images over and over again, I still don't get the Carbon Fiber Mirror Cap option that is being listed.. All these cars have red caps. I suppose Carbon fiber parts are in the trunk or something?? Or as it's an option, will dealers get it later on ?¿
