Whatever you say, I certainly trust what you say over the manufacturers of the car. You can't seriously say that the people that followed it are the ones that have issues lol... I don't think the break-in had anything to do with this issue. 2021 MY are known to have oil issues
Internet 101: The people (2021 owners) who do not have oil burning issues do NOT post about oil burning issues on the internet. Only the (making this estimate up) maybe 1 or 2 percent who do get on the internet and bitch about it. You cannot make conclusions based on Internet forums. Unless, of course, you believe if it’s on the internet it must be true…

I think the last six cars I bought I tuned the week I bought them and sent it. Zero oil issues.

Supra I bought used with 1100 and sent it. 50+ track days later and 500+ hrsprs later, zero oil issues.

No issues on my '21. 12k miles of no track time. There have been times of full throttle "spirited" driving which always makes my heart beat fast.
I just ordered the Liqui Moly 5w-30 kit as mid Florida temps are brutal.

Since I'm in Florida, I've been considering changing to a thicker viscosity.
What weight did you jump to and brand?
I'm a fan of Liquimolly but have been running the 0w-20.

Cheers
I called Liqui and spoke to a tech person (Stephan) there about viscosity of oil for a GR Supra. He told me that Liqui recommends their 0W-20 full synthetic, which meets BMW's specification for motor oil for our 3.0 Supras. He did mention, also that use of higher viscosity oils can void the warranty if engine failure is reported and the car brought to the dealership. Frequent track use and modified engines may certainly warrant higher viscosity oils, but you'd be out of warranty, anyway.

I'm nearly down to the minimum level in MMI now, after 1650 miles since service. Discussed with dealer, and theyve agreed to setup oil consumption test. If the test results in them agreeing to fix the car (per toyota TSB, ordering new parts, essentially engine overhaul) then I will keep the car, otherwise its being sold sadly.

That being said, anyone looking for a Gold certified unmodified low mileage Supra!? /s
Personally I'd be fighting tooth and nail for a new long block. Letting the dealer mechanics inside an engine is looking for trouble. Others have succeeded in this argument.

The main purpose of this thread was to get information about how to get it handled by Toyota, not *if* other people have the same problem.

I will not make it to 5,000 miles without having to add at least 1 qt. Im not measuring it purposely over small distances. Im almost positive this is not normal, having owned performance cars in the past without any oil consumption, even stage 2+. So this is very worrisome and annoying

I've ordered bimmerlink and ODB setup, so I can log my MM to present my evidence if needed. When I went to the Toyota dealership, they refused to document the first top off.
I have a new 2023 Supra for free from daddy Toyota from buying a 2021 with oil burn issues. AMA

Great news, Toyota Corporate has gotten back to me and is going to engage for the diagnosis and next steps. That is what I love to see. I really, really don't wanna not own a supra. Hopefully good times ahead

Is there a way to ban people from threads, this is a warranty and oil discussion and razorlab has been nothing but noise like an annoying bee. Posting random crap about tuned beaters, not reading manuals, track days, and differentials (?). Has absolutely nothing to do with the thread

edit: nvm just unable to control herself https://www.supramkv.com/threads/am-i-an-a-hole.15984/

Sometimes it just takes two more weeks to learn to appreciate someone. Give it more time.

Also, how could I have missed that thread? Bryan is definitely the coolest asshole I know, sorta, like on the internet and stuff.

Huh? I literally showed you the proper way to measure your oil level, which you even thanked me for. I was also the first to tell you this level of oil consumption is not normal.

I think you might be confusing me for someone else. You can put me on ignore if your little brain can’t handle it.

Let me guess, you owned a corvette before the Supra, right?

Different car, different engine, interpret how you will. Taken from a Motive Video YouTube channel video, it's apparently from the owners manual of the 2023 Nissan Z in Australia.

Exactly, it's a very low percentage of 21's that are impacted.

People were making a big deal out of almost nothing, respectfully. This all started when the butt hurt 20' owners got salty over the extra power and 6-port design that Toyota announced after they bought their cars. I'd be somewhat salty too, but they drummed up any oil issues they heard about the 21's.
