You've seen the Pre-Season Testing! You know the team! You know how this season is going to turn out! put your prediction in to the challenge!

The Challenge is based on team's performance at the end of the season. just arrange team order in a manner that what each team's rank (based on championship points) predicted be at the end of the season. points will be calculated at the end of the season.

here's my list. you could reference it and re-arrange as you predict.

1. Mercedes AMG
2. Red Bull
3. McLauren
4. Alpha Tauri
5. Aston Martin
6. Ferrari
7. Alpine
8. Williams
9. Alpha Romeo
10. HAAS

general rule for calculating point is below.

if the team you predict is on target, you get 25 points. if the team drops rank from your list, that's -5 points for each rank. if the team goes up on the rank, that's +5 points for each rank.

i.e. say at the end of the season, following is the ranking.

1. Mercedes AMG : +25 (on target)
2. Ferrari : +20 (5 x 4 ranks up)
3. Red Bull : -5 (1 rank down)
4. Williams : +20
5. McLauren : -10 (5 x 2 ranks down)
6. Alpha Tauri : -10
7. Aston Martin : -10
8. HAAS : +10
9. Alpha Romeo : +25
10. Alpine : -15 (5 x 3 ranks down)

Total : 50 points

Also if you are joining late, penalty is calculated based on missed rounds. if you post your ranks after week 1~3, it's -2 points and calculated with below table. as you know, it will be easier to predict it as season progresses. any cancelled and added round will be calculated accordingly.

missed rounds : penalty
1 ~ 2 : -2
3 ~ 4 : -6
5 ~ 6 : -12
6 ~ 8 : -22
9 ~ 10 : -38
11 ~ 12 : -76
12 ~ 14 : -152
15 ~ 16 : -193
17 ~ 18 : -225
19 ~ 22 : -240

so with above example and if i missed 6 rounds, I'd get 50-22= 28 points.

no prize but just a bragging right. :) bring your crystal ball and get all the points, 250!

2: Mercedes AMG
3: Aston Martin
4: McLaren
5: Ferrari
6: Alpine
7: Alpha Tauri
8: Alfa Romeo
9: HAAS

Being a fan for basically forever, I can confidently guess that this will be the ballpark of what the standings will be at the end of this year.

So I created attached spreadsheet to calculate the score. Right now, it doesn't mean much because score is based on prediction of "Race". I will try to either update it after each race or monthly.. may be quarterly.. I don't know.. I will try to update is as much as possible. ;) if you see wrong calculation, please let me know so I can fix it.

Not sure if I can play on the work account, but here goes. Joining late, but I haven't watched FP1 or FP2 yet.

  3. McLaren

  5. Alpha Tauri
  6. Aston Martin
  7. Alpine
  8. Williams
  9. Alfa Romeo

I want Red Bull and Max to win so badly. But each time I bet against Lewis/Mercedes it always goes poorly. :(

Not a bad idea at all.

I'll see what I can do on that front for sure. T shirts across the board for folks that podium perhaps? If someone nails it, we may have to get more serious.....
