I installed the eibach 0.8 inch lowering springs and just added new wheels and tires. I wanted to get an alignment just to be on the safe side for tire wear. My local tire shop said my car was too low for their rack so I called the local Yota place and the service tech quoted me $650? The tech stated they have to borrow the equipment and "reset all the sensors."

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

By the way, I had new tires put on the stock wheels about 8 months ago at Tire Discounters and the alignment was included in the price. I guess I'll just go back to Tire Discounters and get an alignment.

That’s insane. The cost should be $150 or less. Find another competent party.

Also, Tire Discounter has a year warranty on all alignments. You can have the car realigned at anytime for no additional charge.

I wouldn't pay more than $200 for an alignment on a car with factory arms, and not more than $400 for a full race prep alignment on custom arms with corner balancing.

no really.

I needed an alignment and a place turned me down due to needing a special tool for the front or back tires.

Or buy two rods, some fishing line, a ruler and four jack stands and do it yourself.

That's crazy! I paid $100 at a performance Motorsports place out here in AR.

technically they're not wrong about "reset all the sensors" for lowered cars but I don't think that shop is actually going to do that and it's just markup. Any alignment shop should be fine and yeah don't pay more than 100-200

Reset what sensors? Only thing they have to reset is the steering wheel position sensor and the car will take care of the rest. Don't let those morons touch your vehicle. I took mine to Tire Kingdom and paid less than $150, I also get free alignments for 6 months I believe.

I've taken plenty of my lowered cars to a Firestone location by me. The guy working there is a mastermind and a perfectionist, so I love to take my cars there. It's like $200 for a lifetime alignment. So I can go as often as i'd like.

I called around and found a place just outside of Murfreesboro TN, which is about an hour from me. They did a good job and was less than $200.
