No specific details on specs but 260-280hp and about $10k-$12k less than current year B58 MSRP range.

It was talked about in these threads.

    https://www.supramkv.com/threads/vins-for-supra-with-382hp-b58b30o1-have-been-uncovered.1930/
    https://www.supramkv.com/threads/bmw-insider-385-hp-supra-model-is-coming.1785/

So it sounds like they are going to be dropping the current B58C? imo, they should have kept it as the base model as talked about in the thread below, instead of doing the 4 cyl. "Cuz it America, bigger is always better. :p"

So maybe $38k for the 4 banger? Not too bad for those wanting to do an engine swap.

Depends on what else is left out. If it gets shitty brakes, shitty interior, shitty suspension, you're better off buying the B58.

I believe the only differences with the JDM 4 vs 6 is smaller wheels and brakes, everything else is the same.

Edit: I recall BMW insider saying the 4 banger will also not have power seats.

agree! marketing wise, it would have been a better path to take as to not piss off anymore of the hardcore / old school Supra fan boys.

According to wiki the higher output for the B48 is either 255hp or 302hp.

Then only an idiot would get the 4 cylinder if the 6 is less than 5k away.

Maybe.....they believe they need a price point sports car that’s priced between 86 and current Supra price points and a 4T version of Supra is answer. They believe they can sell the 4T version in target $40k range. Still a lot of time left before release, MSRP could be brought down further if they have room to do so and/or marketing dept believes it needs to be but my intuition is it will fall in the range I mentioned maybe within +\- $2k variance when it hits market (likely many months after 2021 6yl version details released)

I believe he means around 40k$ base price with a full option packet around 45k when a full option 6cylinder comes close to,i think, 57k $

Yeah I don’t think a 4 cylinder makes sense. Between a loaded 86 to the base Supra is only like 20K. Apart so the $40K 4 cylinder will probably take away sales from both. Then again the MK4 Supra did have a base and Turbo version so why not the MK5.

Yeah that sounds more plausible. But that's what Subaru does too. Their WRX starts in the mid 20's, but fully optioned out it actually overlaps into base STI territory. So it depends on what you want, performance in a base car, or bells and whistles in a slower less capable version.
