I personally was going to get mps4s but people were saying they still suck at 295/35/19 in the rear. I most likely won’t pass 520whp at most, maybe not even 500whp so I wanted to see what was the best route. I do daily this vehicle.
I had 295 pss, and ya they did kinda suck even at 420wheel and then 500wheel on e50, I just swapped to a brand new set of 305 pss and its better forsure, I think old ones were a little dry, i took them from a buddy who did not install but had sitting for a year and a half. I had a nt05r drag radial and it hooked but I hated it, the car was awful. No cornering, no fast lane changes, after 110 it was swaying back and fourth, it ruined the car. and I drove once in the rain and I could not go over 35mph. Never again.

I've been happy with 295/35 RT660s on my e50 tune. Haven't put the car on a dyno but im assuming its close to 500 wheel like everyone else with similar specs/tune.

Sure glad I live in Seattle where it never rains. No but seriously, I'm getting good info from these responses and grateful for this community's willingness to share their experience and knowledge.
I'd keep the power mods relatively tame if you plan on using it year round. I've got a JB4 map 2 + dp + intake, around 450 whp and I'll be running 265/295 PS4S for summer track work and cruising , and they still grip in Seattle rain. Got some all-season Contis for winter, but I also generally don't open up on the throttle as much.

If you're going for more power, I'd be wary of taking the car out in rain, especially on most race tires.

My vote is for a Cup2. The R888R's are a track tire: not safe in the rain and loud. I'd suggest the Supercar 3R but I still don't think they are appropriate for a daily driver. I hear good things about the NT05 but no experience with them.
Supercar 3R is a great tire I just think they are very track based like the toyos

Can you fit 305s on the stock wheels in the rear? Looking to upgrade from the stock PSS. P4S still the standard for daily driving? Currently not tuned, but plans for a low end tune (sub 500)

Would anyone here speak to going wider diameter wheels? Do the 20" wheels have better handling/ride?

Thanks in advance.. looking for new tires this week.

Likely no, max recommended width on a 10" rear wheel is 285. You need to aftermarket wheels for 295 and 305 in the back. PS4S should be the standard for daily driving in warmer weather. Usable when colder, but it won't grip as well, so don't drive it like you stole it when its cold (obviously don't use it in snow). Or you could go for all-seasons but you sacrifice top end performance.

20s may improve handling (but can increase unsprung weight), but you'll most likely going to need lower profile tires, which mean ride quality will likely decrease. Do remember the stock wheels are forged, so a lot of more budget friendly aftermarket wheel options are technically downgrades in quality.

I run NT05R's 305/35 19. They grip awesome when warm, ive got a 1.72 60 ft on the street (sorta prepped) Im really torn on what to go next, pick up anothert set of NT05r's or go to the NItto 555 RII's this time, i hear some... a lot... state that the RII's hook better and over all a better tire then the NT05r's. Th 05r's have been great, much better handling then when i was on MT street r's on the mustang, they were 305/45 17 so a bigger sidewall, but that car sucked at handling any round a bouts or anything like that quickly. the Supra just keeps taking the corner harder and harder, so i love this set up

I call BS on anyone stating they are running stocks with tune and e50 and DP (the 500whp+ gang) and are hooking or its just fine, lol. they spin with stock power lol

Don't even "call bs" shit is just completely untrue. Can't hold for shit on the stocks at that power.

You need a bigger wheel. You flex sidewall too much with such a big tire on this rim.

Got a 0-60 time with that setup?

Bigger means WIDER in this case, just for clarification.

Would going bigger and WIDER be advised? Thinking of going 20" 275/295 setup for the front and rear 10" wide in the front and 11" in the rear. Still on the fence if I buy the wider wheels if I should step up to a 285/305

Thanks for your input

Drag times are not about how « WIDE » the tyre is. It needs to have a larger sidewall to allow more ripple upon launch. Wide is for turning grip, sidewall is for lateral grip. Get the best of both world on a 305/45 on a 17 rim

I was running stocks last year, and the wheelspin was getting quite irritating. It started slipping up to 3rd with just a downpipe, and well into 3rd when I ran map2 on top of that. The increased contact patch is still gonna spin, but should reduce wheelspin a bit. Also, the car was slipping quite a bit at the track on the stocks with map2 on (just playing around, not going for lap times at Pacific since it was 100 degrees outside).
