Made a quick video of how it installs onto the car. Since everyone wants the stealth/oem+ look, I’ll make the end product (both the duct and the exterior trim) with non-glossy satin carbon.

How is this design different from Velossa Tech, other than location of the inlet?
The Velossa Tech, if you look at the outlet, all it does is direct air 90 degrees to the general area. They are also just selling a hobbyist grade 3D printed part for almost $600. You’d need to cut a hole in the big (and probably difficult or expensive to replace) fan shroud.

My design rams air directly into the air box and will be made with proper industrial tooling and prepreg autoclave cured carbon fiber.

IMO, If I’m paying close to $600, it should be at least plastic injection molded or better. I’m only using 3D printing for prototyping and testing. Not for the end product.

Nice video. Any chance of a not too expensive external carbon fibre trim option?
If I end up selling this thing, it won’t cost that much more than Velossa Tech and other offerings, and it will be made with proper materials. I’m not here trying to make boat loads of money, I’m just sharing with the community and seeing what happens. Everything out there now is overpriced and cheaply made. I’m kinda tired of it.

This is awesome. Would definitely interested in an OEM look/finish.

This is phenomenal. Your 3d printed unit is decent quality. I'd buy one of those. My only worry is material thickness, deformation and heat resistance over time but injection molded plastic in a hidden area that is functional is something that OEM would do and to the untrained eye, you couldn't tell. I'm down for a a cheaper functional version. CF is cool but not worth the extra expense for looks. (Everyone has different pockets books) If you need an additional tester or data logging like intake temp vs duct intake, I'm down to help.

As long as its printed with the correct materials with correct thickness and such, the print itself should last. I printed my fender vents from PETG and its held up for 2 track seasons so far.

I really don't want to spend any more money on my car - and I can't really afford to - but this is likely going to force my hand. 🫠
