Anyone else car shakes every now & then during startup? Not much of an abrupt shake but more of mild shake then goes away after about 30secs.

This was such a ChatGPT response, I don't know what to say. ? J/k
If your car is experiencing a mild shake during startup, there could be several reasons for this. Some common causes include:

Engine misfire: If one or more cylinders are not firing correctly, it can cause the engine to shake.

Loose components: A loose alternator, fan belt, or other engine components can cause shaking during startup.

Engine mounts: If the engine mounts are worn, they may not support the engine properly and cause it to shake.

Fuel or ignition system issues: If the fuel or ignition system is not working properly, it can cause the engine to shake.

If the shake only lasts for a short time (30 seconds) and goes away, it's possible that the engine just needs to warm up and settle into a smooth idle. However, if the shake persists or if you notice any other unusual symptoms, it's best to have your car inspected by a mechanic to determine the cause.

Mine does this, and it's very off-putting. For a supposed "smooth, inline 6", it shakes like a cam'd V8 at 1k RPM. For my car, it only does it on a cold start, and only until it idles down below 1k RPM, then it's fine.

100% normal
Curious what causes it? This is new to me.

Mine still does it every now and then even after driving it (warm engine) and getting back in it.

Haven’t notice any reliability issues with it so far though.

I noticed it at cold start, but it’s just a small shake which lasts 1sec. It goes away after rpm falling below 1k.
Could be related to lspi - low speed pre ignition or the engine adjusting the ignition.
At least for me there are no loose screws at the engine, checked them a few weeks ago.

After changing the oil to the newest generation of 0w20 the shakes on startup are completely gone, or at least I didn’t notice them anymore.
Tested on a few cold starts from 30-50 F
so it could be related to lspi

can really recommend the engine oil it’s Liqui Moly TopTec 6600, for the states it should be Special Tec AA
