I guess if you have the heat set really high that could be concern...maybe?

I live in So AZ and have yet to use the heat ...the seat warmers are enough for me...

I've Apple iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S8+ (S20 ultra is on the way!). Haven't tried this on Supra yet, but on my other cars iPhone shuts itself off complaining that it's too hot or too cold, unable to deliver peak performance, usually when I'm using it as Nav. Haven't had this issue with the Samsung, but this is applicable to all cars...

However, if you have an iPhone, unless you hate CarPlay, you probably wouldn't need a cell phone mount, unless you're on TikTok or something.

Since I've both, on the Supra, I'm utilizing the iPhone more and leaving Samsung on the charging pad. (iPhone 6s doesn't have wireless charging, but at least it has wireless CarPlay).
I've seen someone on the forum that mounted it to the knee pad, to left of the shifter on an angle, which doesn't block the vents, but if I recall correctly, blocks the A/C controls a bit..

I really wish to temporarily work at the infotainment division of BMW to see why it was so difficult or so uncool to include Android owners!

yeah i saw that side mount. i prefer it being up by the display. can the proclip mount more away from the vent, or does it require the vent opening to clip on to?

No... it's not attached directly to the vent itself...it attaches above and below the dash covers as shown it pic below...

You can place the clip mount anywhere along the top and bottom "rails" and can actually move the mount to the right of the vent...

I bought an iOtti for my car, my wife's car, and my Mom's car and have owned them each for over a year. It's good but not great. All three have had minor issues but still work well. A couple thoughts below:
If you put the iOtti in a spot with direct sunlight (windshield) it can stsrt to overheat and your phone won't charge.
The quality on these are just OK. After a year of ownership there's issues with each of them.
The charging speed is just slightly faster then my use speed with Spotify + GPS on my galaxy s10+. That's all I need tho because it means on long road trips my phone doesn't go dead.

Happy to answer any specific questions!
