approching almost 10% of the MSRP of the car.
This sorta thing gets brought up a lot. I honestly have no idea why that's relevant. It's definitely true, but like.. who cares to get what you want?

How much for the remote cloning process?
If you are referring to cloning your already partial unlocked post 6/20 ecu being cloned over to pre 6/20 ecu here stateside by using the files Femto already has from your original one then I believe it's around $500.

Those of us who don't want eleventy billion horsepower but, rather, a nicely-driving, responsive car with better power than stock.
IF the parts were reasonably expensive - not this.
$3500 is fine for the guys that are into, say, drag racing where more power = faster and they're gonna spend tens of thousands to do it
For the rest of us, we gotta be okay with near stock power levels which, IMO, ain't half bad. 👍🤘
Personally, I wouldn't want to pay $3500+ so I can have the 500whp I'd like. Not worth it (for me, nobody else) in *this* case.

After my experience, I think e50 on mhd or bm3 should be enough for most people. I just went bm3 with e50 and it's amazing. In a couple of years, I'll probably push for more hp but not anytime soon. Only paid $2300 total for mine.

Look, I'm all for choosing to spend your money however you wish.

I just don't understand why everyone who chooses to not spend money on an ECU clone feels compelled to let the world know over and over that they would personally never do such a thing and it's not worth it to them.

Every time this ECU cloning topic comes up, it's always:

"Wow people are crazy spending that much money"
"I'm just gonna go to a different platform in a year"
"Not worth it, I'm happy with stock power levels"

Everybody out here sounding like broken records.

The owner told me it would be $500 for this particular service on this ecu to copy over a FEMTO file on top of the price of the ecu.

The seller can also get you an Ecutek license + bench unlock for an additional $525.

But you don't need to spend $3500 if you just want 500whp. No need for a clone to get there, just need to get your current ECU unlocked via Femto.

As long as that would pass CA smog, I'd be good with that.

I'm just waiting for the day the post 06/20 DMEs are finally unlocked, because when that finally happens, the floor is going to fall out on the prices of MY2020 Supras, as there will be no logical reason to want one of those over the much improved MY2021-2023 at a similar price point. At least, that's my prediction..
