Hi,

Just got the full SPL package installed on my car and am looking for Coilovers to compliment it with.
My car is my daily and track about 3 times a year and autocross every other month.
We do canyon runs every other weekend and after researching, I've narrowed it down to either the KW Clubsport 2 Way, KW V3 or KW DDC.
Ohlins was my first choice but read it won't get you to a 1 finger drop like the KW can.
I know I am stuck with the factory presets with the DDC unlike the other two coils mention.
For anyone in here running any of these coils with the SPL package, how is your experience with them?
This will help me decide.

Thank you for your time!

KW DDC is our best selling coilover. People love the functionality of being able to retain the EDC for comfort during daily driving and sport for track/canyons.

We have KW and Ohlins in stock though so message us!

Hi Josh,
Thank you for your reply!
Do people usually go with the Verus or Vorshlag camber plates because I believe that’s all that’s missing when purchasing?
Thanks!

You can run neither, but we do sell Verus when needed.

So update on the Swift spring install on the Ohlins. They fixed the issue and ride much much better than the original Ohlin springs. I had dampening set at 10 all around on the Ohlins and 10 on the Swifts and its much more compliant in cornering (more direct), and better on the microbumps, humps, dips, etc in the Bay Area (notoriously shitty).

The Swift springs were installed and with the Ohlin spec preload of 190 it lowered about 5mm from before, then the preload was set at 210 and completely fixed the issue with ride height. With the helper springs up front the car has preload fully even when raised. The rear actually needs a pair of helper springs because there is about 20mm of no preload if the car is raised in the air, since the new Swift rear spring is 180mm instead of the Ohlin 200mm. Ordered this, but not much of a concern just dont jack the car up without caution until you install.

So if you install aftermarket camber plates up front you need to install shorter springs, with helpers front and rear, you should need the following:

Front Springs:
Z65-152-110
ID: 65mm (2.56")
Length: 152mm (6") Ă— 2

Rear Springs:
Z65-178-180
ID: 65mm (2.56")
Length: 178mm (7") Ă— 2

Helper Springs:
H65-135-0008
Swift Helper Springs - Flat Wire 65mm (2.56") ID Ă— 4

Adjust the preload to 210 and you will have the following ride height in the photos below. The rear needs to be raised slightly due to the shorter spring but that will be solved in my alignment next week. Otherwise I definitely recommend anyone with the Ohlins to swap out the original springs for these for better ride height and a much better ride.

Full SPL as well except the bearings. Haven't put them in yet. Waiting for OEM ones to wear 1st.

I have Ohlins and they handle well. Not too harsh in town and better track performance. But hindsight is always 20/20. I’d probably go with a bit more track purposed ones, since I don’t do the settings myself anyway. Also, count your track miles on whatever you buy. Consider where you’re going to get them serviced/ rebuilt.

You’re going to love the upgrade. Josh is mega helpful. Bought from him before. I have Vorschlag top hats to get more tilt up top & compliment the SPL adjustable LCAs. At the time Vorschlag made Ohlin top hats, was my reason for purchasing them.

Watch out for the hood outer fender rubbing your tires. Make sure you have enough neg camber if you’re going to lower her. All aftermarket parts have to be inspected for bolts becoming loose. I think that summarizes it in under a 5 min nutshell.

Welcome to the club & enjoy!!

to add on top of what FLtrackdays has mentioned -- don't forget the importance of your alignment.

If my use case was similar to yours (a couple of track days a year + daily), I'd probably go -2.5 in the front, -1.5 or -2 in back. Feel free to go more aggressive in the front for better performance, but in terms of daily wear I think -2.5 is a decent middle ground. For toe in, I went .06 in front and .125 in rear. I don't have SPL/Verkline packages yet, but I'm on HKS Hipermax R coilovers + Cusco sway bars.

Just an FYI, -1.5 camber in the rear is less than OEM spec.

I had an alignment done while on stock suspension/wheels/tires after hitting a pretty big pothole. According to the tech, the rear was -.9 ?‍♂ I left it as is until I installed new coilovers and sway bars. I read that there were suspension tuning adjustments on 2023+Supra's, I don't know the validity to this.

OEM spec is -2.0 +/- .25

I’m currently on Hipermax R which is circuit focused and I’m happy with it but, I think you will not be satisfied with it because it’s very stiff for daily using. I think your best option is to get Hipermax S which is street focused and for occasional track days as well.

I can vouch for Fortune Auto 510s they have been a fantastic street/track coilover. The valving allows for spring rate increases within a reasonable margin so if you decide to move more toward track you can always up your rates (or just get them revalved).

I'd you primarily intend on keeping the car on the street with only a couple track days a year then you should be fine with KW, however look into some of the issues other people have had with the Clubsports while tracking. Those who have cars more set up for track and run them hard have had blown seals. The issue with the clubsport is there isn't a warranty, so if it happens you're sorta up shit creek.

Also for the love of God don't get vorshlag camber plates.
