I mean in its price class
Telling you that would probably violate his NDA, pricing will remain a closely guarded secret until release.

I used to think upper 40s CAD for the initial base model, but more recent "info" suggests it's more likely mid 50s, i.e. base Vette pricing which for me is too big a gap from a 31k 86.

55k Canadian? That's like 43ish USD? Not bad. Way better than the 60k I was hearing months ago.

"The MKIV is constantly on the mind of the designers and engineers, they know the expectations, the market, and most importantly, the hype. Don't think that they're in the dark about any of the details when it comes to the MKIV and it's place in the automotive world."

That is a big statement, we shall see.
Big statement.. for sure. I’m sure toyota will build an excellent car.. but without a manual I’m not sure if they understand the expectations portion.

For most brands you can't do a simple currency rate conversion to figure out how much a US car will cost based on Canadian pricing. When the USD costs $1.29 CDN, as it does now, the premium for a car here in Canada usually ranges from 10-20% over US prices, depending on brand and model - most manufacturers price lower here to move more metal. So I'd guesstimate that if the Supra is $55k here it will be more like $47-49k in the US.

Anyways as Lexusisf says it's all poorly-informed speculation at this point...

Unfortunately thats all we can do for now is speculate/guess...but I do agree with your guess-estimate DevonK, $55k “seems” about right for the base model...(there was recent mention again of a NA model?)

Its also hard to compare the US to Canadian models as ours tend to be more fully loaded with limited options vs. the US where many more options and configuration is the norm...

-There are a lot of small design elements that are still being tested...
Sadly nope. Didn't get any dates or even estimates. I'll keep working on that!
If they are still working on 'small design elements', does that mean we are still more than a year away from a production car?

Just throwing this out there..

The Mkiv supra was sold with and without a wing...
I believe the wing came standard but you could option a wing delete. Wing delete was pretty rare on the turbo cars though.

IIRC: the wing, at least at first, was added by dealers to turbos because it was not yet DOT approved when the car was being manufactured.

I remember an interview with the chief engineer and he was talking about it.

Spotted on supra forums.

I was recently at a Toyota event and got to see the car from a distance (Along with the NASCAR version). It's very similar, if not exactly the same, as the most recent renderings. The following was shared:
- Will debut at the Detroit Auto Show, should see it at dealerships next Summer. - ~350 HP engine, not 400 as I've seen stated. It will be an I6 with a single turbo. - Automatic transmission. Toyota did not officially announce this but in talking to a Toyota engineer it's a no-go on a M/T - hoping he's wrong..
It was about a 45 second show and tell so they didn't divulge much information beyond that.
