I've seen a few threads where they were installed under the hood, but I don't want some loose wire hanging by the engine all year round. I went into the trunk and the positive cable has a stud specifically to hook up accessories on. Pull off the red cap and there's a nut underneath.
I installed the negative directly to the body underneath the battery tie down. When the cover goes back on the plug can easily be accessed and after winter it can be stored in the battery bay completely out of sight.

12 hours later, fully charged. I was surprised to see that even though I took the car on a 320 mile road trip, the battery was not fully recharged after that. Sitting on the docks in Jersey for 2 months drained the battery a lot.

I agree. Simple and a great DIY.

This is similar to what I've done in my own Supra with a NOCO onboard. Same bolts. Works great.

I use the jump points under the hood when I need to charge. The small CTEK connectors allows me to close the hood while doing it too. No need to hook it up directly to the battery

This allows for a permanent solution. When it's not charging, the connection just stores away in the battery location under the trunk panel. When winter comes around, just plug and play. Lay the trunk down, done.

You can do under the hood permanent connections.

Great installations. Unfortunately, Iā€™m the bonehead / ADHDer who will drive off with the cord connected - even if I can see it when getting in to the car. Iā€™ve done worse. Therefore I leave the hood popped a bit when my tender is connected to the jump points - Iā€™m assuming these cars give a warning if you put the car in drive with the hood popped? Sorry, havenā€™t driven it much due to weather and just buying it.

Good point, attaching it in the rear, one can easily drive off with it connected.

I did the same thing and ripped the whole power supply off my wall. lol. I now keep the hood open when connected.

Oh yea, always notice the Supra since I have to step over the cord to get in. But not the wife's car. Seeing that cord dangling when you've stopped the moment before disaster will rattle your sphincter. Little tab of orange electrical tape on the window is now the reminder.
