Dealer Flash Update Lock

I bought a Supra earlier this month and just checked it today.. it’s locked. RIP the dream.

I may send it off to get bench unlocked at some point but not right now.

Best case, it's a two to three day turn around to any of the tuners that has an unlock kit so if you can suffer for that long, it might be worth doing if you want to get a flash tune. Otherwise, a piggyback is your best option until you're ready.

it sucks not having your brand new car for a few days, BUT, it’s totally worth it for a bench flash. I just had mine done over the weekend and wow. Just a downpipe and e40 and the car feels like a missile.

I went to that site and found my service records and some interesting info. Mine had the normal prep on 1/24/20. No update. They also noted "defect in clear bra" and had it replaced. It is self-healing 3M Scotchguard btw. Something else I discovered was that apparently all Supras have ToyotaCare meaning regular maintenance is free for 24 months/24K miles. Oil change interval is 5K/6months.

Can get one of these covers, put tape over the obd II port, and/or ask to speak to tech and tell them not to flash.

I would ask OpenFlash if they would do it. They haven’t officially offered anything but they may be kind enough to do it. They are in the Bay Area I believe.

While the tuners are figuring out how to unlock the new version of the software through the obd port, I've joined the JB4 club. So far so good, the car drives smoothly like stock but with a stronger pull and the powerband feels to have been extended closer to the redline. The buildup now doesn't drop-off before the redline like it used to which is a very welcome improvement over stock.

I am now ready to take on the MY21 drivers (but they have to be stock

I am one state over and offer unlocks. I may be going over to California to visit my friends over at CSG to work on some projects. The are a bit south of you. I don't currently do unlocks for MHD but I may start offering the service. I do currently offer unlocks for EcuTek though and do them quite often.
