Did this tonight. Wow, night and day difference.

I couldn't get any purchase using a screw, though. I tried for almost half an hour with no luck. So I switched to a pick tool that came with my dash removal kit (just a long, thin piece of metal with a pointy end) and got it the first try by kind of scooping it out. So if anyone else is having issues with a screw, try that instead.

Great write up!

Did this mod last night and after bleeding the clutch, my pedal has no resistance. I used the power bleeder, should I continue to bleed a few more times.

Sounds like you let the hydraulic fluid drain out of the master when you disconnected the line.

Is the power bleeder a pressure type or a vacuum type? If it's pressure, push the pedal to the floor and then use the power bleeder to pump some fluid into the system. It should fill the master up. You'll have to work it a bunch to get all of the air out though.

It is the Motive pressure type, I just rebled the system and was able to get the air out of the system. All good now. Thank you

I did the BimmerCode to add sport+ mode and the shifting is way smoother and now when down shifting car rev matches (I think that’s the term anyhow ) ?. Only issue I had was the PB disengaging and not re-engaging with pressing button. After a drive it hasn’t happened again. Did any of you that did sport + mode notice the big change in transmission and possibly negating the benefits of CDV mod? Not very competent mechanic and have never wrenched on a clutch. My car at 800 miles now and trying to decide if I should do the cdv mod.

This is the first time I've heard anyone suggest coding Sport+ does anything on a manual. Also, the rev matching function is a toggle in the iDrive menu when using regular Sport mode.

Can you please clarify as I'm sure we're all keen to hear about Sport+ in the manual, but you seem to have some key information a little mixed-up.

Are you comparing Sport+ to normal/comfort/lame mode perhaps?
And how does Sport+ compare to the built in Sport mode?

Yes I have a manual. The gate seemed a little clunky from mile 5 to before yesterday. I did the sport + in BimmerCode which I found in that 30 page guide stacyoz made. It seemed to change the entire dynamics of the shifting. Best way I can describe it is it loosen up and seemed to reduce or bypass that double click feeling prior. I also have a 24 type R and is wierd as this may sound it shifts more like my typeR. Granted I have 2 brand new cars that I flip flop driving and both under 800 miles so maybe I have not worded it right. That’s why I posted to see if any had tried the sport + before this mod.

Just did a 20 minute drive taking my youngest to work and he said” did you put the intake in?” I said no just added sport + mode. To answer your question as far as I’m concerned it made of feel like a different car. Right now car is apart as I’m doing tadda’s speaker box mod and wiring a radar detector. Will try and get you more info if needed. Has no one else done sport+ on a 24 45th Anni. With 6MT before doing this mod? Would love to hear their experiences to compare.

OK. You have my undivided attention. I have a 2008 Civic Type R and even after doing the CDV delete, the 16 year old Honda transmission leaves the Supra six speed for dead.

This is getting interesting!

Yeah man, I always read and never post. I don’t do social media. I have been through the menus and never saw rev matches an option. Car has more burbles, downshifts feel like up shifts used to feel and car feel woken up. I have not done the JP4 tune yet but if I had and got these results I would be 5 star reviewing his tune ?. Granted I’m trying to break in properly but that +sport bummer mod makes we wanna drive it like I stole it ?. Will try and put some parts back on and drive again but my car nut son thought I did a performance mod to car. Any other questions let me know and I’ll try and accommodate.

Like you, I'm curious to hear your experiences and others. I'm running a JB+ with an AWE Touring exhaust so its already pretty rowdy but more is good. ?

@BMWAF I assume you have not tried the sport+ mod? Here what I followed . If you do it let me know cause with your upgrades and if you removed CDV you would be on opposite end of what I have done and would give me a glimpse at the finish line ?

I have coded a bunch of stuff but not Sport Plus. My current project is to try and get Easy Entry to work but after some initial success, it looks like it may be a long, if perhaps impossible task.

I remember reading about coding Sport Plus a while ago and at the time most people seemed to suggest staying away - particularly when using a manual transmission. Your experiences thus far have certainly got me interested though, and I'm sure others would be interested too.

It's up to you, but it might be worth starting a fresh thread for this?

I just did the sport+ on my 45th but haven’t had a chance to give it a test drive yet. What seems odd to me about what you’re saying is that you feel a noticeable difference when shifting, but sport+ only gives you the option to change the engine setting. Were you able to change the transmission setting as well?

Yeah it seems unlikely that changing programming can physically change the way the shifter feels. I’m wondering if the shifter was just more “broken in” by the time sport plus was added?

In any case, if someone else has noticed the same difference then I’d tempted to code in Sport +

This shifter is still a little vague and rubbery.
