Pulled details from Bimmerlink, cleared code drove around and it came back. Anyone had this before?

Google says perhaps you should visit the dealer as there may be fuel vapor leakage... Or some sensor error causing the open circuit...

Seems that way, just concerned that Toyota mechanic won't really know what to do.

If you’re fully stock, it’s worth having them take a look. Your car may be down (stuck there) for a while, but the price is right under warrantee.

If you have aftermarket parts, best to find a good independent mechanic.

Thanks,
I only have a jb+, easy to remove. Tried to search everywhere about this and its definitely evap related. Could even be gas cap related. My BMW friends tell me it's my fault for not driving the car enough. Life of a garage queen. Lol

I did the same thing with some jetskis a while back and it was a mess. In the future, it’s worth a drive to a gas station that has non ethanol gas or put some Stabil in her if she’s going to sit a bit.

Makes sense. It was my second drive after pulling out of storage. Brought tank to near empty put new gas , drove 20kms, no issues but code came back on start up. I've stored all my cars for extended periods, c5 z06, type R, never had issues. German things I guess :)

Mine were Honda jetskis. So can happen to anything with a gas tank. If that’s what it is.

Check out the winter storage section. Non ethanol gas is best but if using a Stabil like product, add some to the almost full tank, drive around, and top it off for long term storage. I hope that’s not your issue. But a good recommendation for next time 😉

This is the noise that follows with the CEL, sound is coming from passenger side rear wheel well.

Searched some BMW forums and found some sort of evap system is located right there. There's no change in var drivability, or behavior from what I can tell.

Made appointment with dealer for this week. I'll circle back with findings. In the video you can hear some sort of gargling sound every 10 secs then off, back on 10 secs, on and off. Like a ready check or something. Very odd that a purge valve, hose or solenoid would fail at 13,000 kms.

Edit: Spelling

Dealer diagnosis,

Replace Canister SUB-ASSY, Part# 77704-WAA01, to be replaced under warranty. No idea what caused this. Some people say maybe the previous owner forced extra gas in the tank after the pump clicked. Car only has 13,000 kms, (8000miles), but she is a garage queen.

EDIT: Part on back-order, 1 to 2 weeks

Happy for you man! I‘m sure you have a battery tender. But if not, get one with your next bottle of Stabil ⛽

Update:

Tech verified charcoal canister assembly found a hose or tube that was damaged that's not apart of the new assembly. Part on back order. 10 days minimum. Car remains at Toyota. Pretty disappointing for a car with 13,000kms. And an uncommon issue on top of it. Going to miss the next Femto service again, lol.
