If you guys wanted more proof why Supra didn't come with a Manual. The guys who want it, dont talk with their wallets.
Finally got a chance to drive a manual BRZ today and yeah Supra truly does need a manual.
I am glad that EAG made an OEM manual swap kit for the GR Supra
Yes $12000 is a lot but it includes labor and of course this is a brand new transmission
I am already saving up for the Supra and of course the manual swap
Toyota needs to sponsor this!
Kinda cool that it’s being done...but $12k? On top of the price of the car and now voiding the warranty? (I wouldn’t place much stock in the “warranty” that the shop will offer).
No, thanks. I will not pay a 20% premium to get the transmission it should have come with. I wonder what they do with the fairly expensive trans they remove from the car?
The guy who said people not bringing their wallets is the reason Toyota didn’t offer the manual doesn’t make a realistic point; now the car is over $70k, which takes it well beyond the point of value, imo
I just have to say lol and wish them luck at hacking the dash without it looking like typical aftermarket fixes......what a great interior design by BMW & Toyota...SMH...shows why they were never going to put a stick in it themselves, the swoop on the driver's side is a big middle finger..
I'll believe it when i see it , that's a lot of modification for 12K including parts and labour if they are hacking up the dash as well.
I cant stand this guy from his videos but hey maybe I will be surprised.
Curious to ask, how will current owners feel if next year Toyota release a manual supra?
I love engineering and development. But for this specifically. i don't see the point in swapping to a manual trans to be slower in a straight/curves when the AT in the car can handle the power same power the manual can. we have yet to break one at 600, 700, almost 800tq.
I love a manual, but i can appreciate the AT in this car since i has other manual cars. still looking forward to seeing result, but the whole dash modification thing i think may be the cutoff for a lot of people
This is the exact reason why I'm not doing a manual conversion for at least another year or so
