Hey all. First post here. Bought a 2026 3.0 premium MT a few months ago and did my first oil change this weekend at 1300 miles. I noticed the oil filter that came out was a different part number than the BMW one I ordered only by the last digit. Had to pull my new one back out to verify the part numbers. ECS website says the one i bought is the right one. So 2 queations:
1) Anyone know why the BMW part numbers are different by 1 digit (845 vs 846)?
2) Any issues with the orings on the new filter caused by installing it completely then removing it to check the part number, then reinstalling it? It was in for maybe 5 minutes, never started.
