He shouldn't get a seat. Ever since he left RBR his priorities have been about money. Not winning, not teamwork, just money. It would be a shame if a young driver like Mick would lose a seat and a place on the grid to a sellout. He got his money, so good riddance.

This. I actually liked him back then... but at the same time I feel like ever since (leaving RBR) it was mostly shit-talking about abilities (which admittedly is part of the game) but then nothing but excuses and blame when his performance was a dumpster fire.

I feel like he believes everything he achieved at Red Bull was his talent alone... and he's spent the last 4 years proving it was mostly the car. ;)

Well, should be an interesting race with the way the grid is going to start. I think so far we're up to about 472 grid penalties for various reasons.

Im glad im not the only one that feels that way about Danny Ric. He seems like one of the best guys to hang out with, but as a racer, it seems he isnt in the top 5 UNLESS he has one hell of a car. and he hates being 2nd driver (i mean almost all do, but he runs from team to team so he wont be)

It's an interesting thought exercise... since none of us will get to be an F1 driver anyway.

Would you rather have more conservative compensation and "image" but a great car and team... or be more of a superstar but then drive for a team that struggles to adequately fund development and deliver top performance?

Naturally, the obvious answer is both... but unless your name is Lewis Hamilton... there aren't many of those positions available. Plus you'd have all those meetings with Toto... :puke:

Driver salaries aren't part of the budget cap, so there's no reason not to have both.

That moment when Lewis realized that the Red Bull is like a greased scramjet missile. Oooof.

""How far are we off?", "1.8 to Verstappen", "1.8 seconds?""

So good. A little bonus after qualifying.

I expect them to be better in the race though. It should be a little warmer which helps and they generally do better on Sunday.

Oh Ferrari..... you just can't help it can you
And what was Hamilton thinking.... taking "Still I Rise" a little too literally lol. Alonso with a zinger.
Mercedes with all their crying and whining seemed to only have helped Red Bull. Max was faultless. Perez had a shot, but that start was awful.

That fresh engine just destroyed - safety care didn't hurt either, although I don't think that really would've mattered much, it just sped up the inevitable.

Ham admitted fault, just didn't see him. Alonso's comment was a good 'un, although didn't he pinch Leclerc about 15 laps later?

Perez seems to caught sleeping every so often on race starts or resumptions after a safety car.

Classic Ferrari again - going for fastest lap - gets stuck behind Alonso, gets the place back but loses it due to a post-race penno from speeding in the pitlane...

This was 4/10 race for me after the first 5-10. Lots more action in the midfield in previous races, didn't seem as much today, or the camera director wasn't focusing on it.
